Would you want to have someone mention it to you?

Default Would you want to have someone mention it to you?

If there was something glaringly different in a quilt top you were making - such as one block being placed differently than the rest -

Would you appreciate it if someone asked you about it?

Or would you consider the person a member of the dreaded 'quilt police'?

I would like to have someone mention it to me and ask if it was intentional? If not intentional, I'd like to be able to change/fix it before it's quilted.

It depends on the persons personality. I would want someone to mention it to me. I would never mention it after the quilt was quilted! But in the early stages when it was still fixable - yes.

I never use the term "quilt police." I always appreciate an honest critique of my work...whether I ask for it or not.

yes I would want someone to tell me before it is quilted

..I emailed a picture of a very busy quilt that I made to my friend and she picked out right away that I had a blocked turned the wrong way, but it was all ready quilted so there wasn't anything I could do about it...she said not to tell anyone and most would not see it but everytime I look at the quilt my eyes go right to the mistake.. LOL

I'd want to know unless the quilt was all together all ready and it would be a pain to fix

Years ago a lady I knew was showing me some of her craft projects. One was counted cross stitch. She was not

finished with it but I could easily see that she did not know about having all of the top stitches going in the same direction. So I mentioned it to her. After I saw her face fall I was sorry that I told her.

I would rather know so I can do it right the next time. Maybe not everyone is like that.

This reminds me of the question about myslip showing, always appreciate people concerned enough about how things look and what I need to know reminds me they are interested in what I am doing.

Me, too. In fact I PM'd a board member about a similar thing and she was so grateful!
