    My first bed quilt.

I am fairly new to quilting. I've made a number of small things, and a couple of lap quilts.
This is the first bed quilt, also the first one I ever sent out to be quilted.
Wow. Is that ever fun! Her stitching brought my quilt up to another level.

It was just finished this week, and I'm giving it away this weekend.
The recipient's favorite color is yellow, and a "pale, pale yellow" at that.
It was tricky coming up with pastels for an adult, and pale pastels in general can make for a plain effect, so I incorporated some contrast, and some blue, and lots of lavender (backing, too) as a complement to the yellow.
I didn't much care for yellow when I started, but after all these months I've learned to like it!

I can't believe I didn't discover this thread until I was finished with my yellow quilt. It is so inspiring. What a beautiful quilt show! All so special.

Me too....I am an avid gardener and gardens like quilts have a little more "zing" with a touch of yellow.

Here are some of my quilts with yellow. Over half of all my quilts have some yellow in them. It takes what would otherwise be a bit dull and gives them spark.

I've been off the site for a while and I'm trying to do a little "catch-up". I have really loved seeing all the beautiful quilts with yellow in them. I inherited yards and yards of solid yellow fabric from my mother and will probably never be able to use it all, but have been so inspired by all the wonderful quilts on this thread. Thank you all for posting all your beautiful quilts.
