Oh my gosh. At christmas time a company sent us a christmas card that was black with wonderful gold lines. I saved it because it is perfect for quilting a christmas quilt I am working on.

You know you are a true quilter when.... you take fabric to work and use the conference room to cut out patterns during lunch hour.

You know you are a true quilter when....you only book hotel rooms that have a table large enough to cut fabric. I've actually had the cleaning folks come sit with me while I cut.

I have been doing this a lot lately! I have even asked people - "When you are done with that shirt (jacket, dress, etc.), instead of throwing it away, will you please remember me and let me have it? I would love to include that fabric in a quilt!"

I was at a meeting just now and I stopped a perfect stranger in the hall carrying a bag that I recognized had a quilt in it and askled her about it. It was a quilt made for a breast cancer patient that works in the college that I do.

I have not yet made a quilt but have a stash and stockpiling my "bookmarks". My son's jeans were ready for the trash (don't worry---they are not going there). I said you don't want these anymore do you?? He said "no-but can't we save some of it for patching?" I said "uh-sure" while thinking I can get some quilting squares out of these jeans.
    I think I am becoming a quilter:)

when you use your washer and dryer for shrinking fabric more often then washing clothes

long skinny (like 1/2") pieces of fabric make the best cat toys (my cat will cry by it until I play with her)

you always have random threads on your clothes
