AS I WAS MAKING SEVERAL STRIP SETS, I WAS WONDERING HOW MANY OF YOU OUT THERE PIN YOUR FABRIC TOGETHER BEFORE SEWING WHEN PIECING? I DO RELIGIOUSLY. I GUESS I'M AFRAID IT WON'T TURN OUT RIGHT. I KNOW OTHERS WHO DON'T. DO I NEED TO NOT BE SO PICKY?

Yep, pin, pin, pin. Especially on borders. pin, pin, pin! I've had some quilts come in with extra inches (one quilt had an extra 4" on each border, think 'ruffles'). That's what happens sometimes when you DON'T pin.

Sometimes I pin, to match things. Not always.

I know that some pin and a lot, me not so much, actually really not at all, not to hold my pieces anyway, I sometimes use them to mark the side I am to sew.

It is a personal thing, some have to, some don't, I wouldn't quilt if I had to pin. though I have sewn for more than 15 years, makes a difference in my style of quilting, do what you need to do to be comfortable, if you feel the need to pin, pin away. would my work be more acurate if I pinned, maybe, maybe not.

I pin, especially when matching seams in the blocks. I always pin the borders, as mentioned, ruffles are not something we want!

I always pin when matching seems too. Rarely do I ever pin otherwise.

Some things I always pin, some I don't. If it involves points or stars or connecting seams yes. So I am in middle ground
