Hello all! I am new to quilting and spray basting. I used the Tailor quilt basting spray on cotton batting for the last 2 charity baby quilts I made and it worked fine. I just bought 4 cans of Sulky kk 2000 from a quilter here in Delaware that I used it on a charity baby quilt and I am not thrilled. It did not stick all that well. I just started spray basting and goodbye pins!! I am asking what is your favorite spray to use?
2nd...Is there any kind of basting spray I could use on 100% polyester? I usually only make 40x45 size charity quilts as I am scared to try anything bigger!! Any encouragement in that area would also be appreciated. Thanks to all.

I have only used the June Tailer Spray Baste as well. I love it and was upset to see they didn't have it anymore at my local Joann's. I was in Michael's yesterday and was so relieved to see it on the shelf!

Are you spraying the batting? With some polyester I had to spray heavier than I have cottons :D:D:D

Yes, I spray my the bottom layer of the quilt sandwich. Then put on the batting, then spray the top of the batting then position my quilt top.

I use the spray all the time. Some brands are slightly better than others, but I buy what I can get on sale. What I discovered is this trick: Always spray the fabric and NOT the batting. I believe that the spray goes into the "pores" of the batting which wastes spray and makes for lousy adhesion. When I sprayed the fabric which is smoother, I had no problem with adhesion on the same quilt.

I hope this trick works for you.
