Green olfa. I need a new one but they don't sell them at my Joanne's store anymore.

I just ordered a Gingher mat (on sale, of course) and it should be here next week. Anxious to see if it is as good as the reviews.

I love my Alvin mat. It is light in color, nearly clear and it is very easy to see when cutting darker fabrics yet is just as easy cutting lights.

since your subject is about mats, I was wondering do you soak it in water as recommended by their company? This is suppose to keep it from wearing down as much.

I have an Alvin 24 x 36. Mine is green with white lines on one side and black with grey lines on the other. It's had about 2 years hard use (all on one side) and I just noticed today that it is finally starting to show some wear in the areas that I use the most. I need to scrub it and soak it so it can heal back up. It feels like an Olfa mat so I'm pretty optimistic that it'll heal well.

It's very nice to cut on - I'd definitely buy it again.

I have at least 3 green Olfas, one royal blue ??, and a yellow and gray Fiskars. Oh, a large, very old, white translucent one. I have to say for cutting the olfas are the best but for my aging eyes and the lighting in my sewing room I do like the yellow and gray mats.
