Oh lord, I have it all..

a Sterilite drawer for each of these:
less than 5 inch strips, longer than 5 inch strips, crumbs, binding rolls, 4in, 5in 6 in sq, and each of my applique shapes

On each of the the three walls:

wall one-
Wall book case for bolts and anything longer than a yard
Wall two-
Wall book case for anything larger than 1/4 yds but smaller than a yard color coordinated
Wall three-
Bookcase for fat quarters color coordinated
Bookcase for 1930s color coordinated

my walk in closet has 30 gallon totes of holiday fabrics..

I do not toss anything away larger than 1x1..

I have three tall bookcases with 2+ yard mini-bolts of fabrics and two other smaller bookcases with bolted fabric. I have another tall bookcase with folded one yard cuts, organized by color, season, type, and genre. I have a dresser with all my FQs organized by color. I have two DVD storage shelves that contain about three hundred FQs on mini-mini bolts. I also have a couple doored cabinets where I keep my 110" backing fabric and stabilizer/interfacing. Then, I have small plastic shoe boxes for all my smaller pieces. I also have a bunch of tubs of fabric with scraps that I haven't sorted and a few with larger pieces of fabric that I haven't room for on my shelves. (I have WAY too much fabric!) I keep small pieces for PPing and for machine applique. If I don't think that I am going to use my scraps, I put them in a ziplock and donate them to my kids' school for crafts.
