2 years ago a tornado hit our town and took out many homes and hit the elementary school directly. Thank God (and we did!) it was a sunday afternoon and the school was empty, and although 3 people died, we were unbelievably lucky. Now it has really hit home just how blessed we were. I know our town will be sending all we can to help.

Lauri,

Please no hurry I have been super busy and probably won't have mine done until middle June.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day next weekend.

I like, blue yeah!!! wondering what the rest looks like. Getting excited. Hey did we set a date to be ready to mail. I know you have things coming up here real soon. I am still assembling the blocks, but have decided on the border and have enough for the binding. Wont take me long to quilt since I have the longarm out in the garage to get r done with. Feeling better as long as I don't lift to heavy and no more digging holes, muscles don't want me working them that hard yet. yes, I won and the 22 plants of tomatoes are in the ground. Victorious! All gardening is finally done till the rain stops then will do some weeds, but they are not real excited to come up thankfully. Let me know my deadline date please!

Well good for you on the planting...lots of rain here and hoping it will help make the weeding in perennial flower garden easier...never really easy, but somehow peaceful to me. Glad you're feeling some better. As far as the "when" goes on sending to each other I guess the July finish date is fine. I'm working on several things right now....yours should be done tomorrow but that doesn't mean it can't sit in the cupboard for awhile....so how about July 1st?

someone asked if you press binding after sewing it on? I press it before I sew it to the quilt front then push it over to the back and hand stitch it down. I do not press after its sewn on the front. I eyeball it as I ease it over to the back. I have zero luck with machine stitching binding on so I after its machined to the front I hand stitch it so its even, no off the edge sewing at all.. that bothers me too much even though tis so much easier.. just me

I had just took a break from sewing on leakus' quilt, when my windows started rattling real bad, the table lamp next to me was rocking, my chair was swaying & my cat was totally freaking out. There was a 5.9 earthquake in Greenville, CA that is about 2 hours south west of me in the high Sierra Mountains. I haven't felt one like since I left Santa Barbara. I will continue working on the quilt tomorrow.

Those are sort of rare up here. my kids are always wanting me to go into one of the local caverns with them. That is why I wont go into a cavern. I like living a bit too much CHICKEN? heck yes.
