Among the Leaves Swap

Please use 100% pre-washed cotton (required) and make sure your blocks measure 12 ½" unfinished. Select fabrics that will hold up to a lot of love, wear, tears, draggin', cuddlin', washing, and trips through the dryer. Fabrics that fray easily, or are fairly easy to see through are not good candidates for this swap.

For a sample of the way your block should look, see this pattern: http://www.quilterscache.com/M/MapleLeafBlock.html

PLEASE NOTE: This pattern uses a scant quarter inch in its directions.

THEME/COLORS:
The leaves will be any fall colors/theme fabrics you would like (please note that bright colors will stand out better). ((sorry for typo))

The background will be black. (You do not have to use solid blacks but it needs to read as black from a distance)

Make 12 blocks alike, you will receive one of yours back and 11 different blocks. This is so you receive blocks that coordinate best with yours.

Please mark EACH ONE of your blocks with a little slip of paper pinned to each block, or a sticky label can be used, please put the label on the back as sometimes some of the 'sticky' adheres to the block itself. Or you may write in somewhere that it will not bleed through with a permanent thin pigma pen. Please include your real name AND Board name.

Send them to me along with an ADDRESSED RETURN Flat Rate Stamped envelope ($4.95) for returning blocks. No other return method will be accepted.

Sign-up will close on SUNDAY August 26th, PM me if you wish to join.

Blocks due to me by THURSDAY September 15th. Please plan mailing accordingly!! Because of problems with the deadlines in other swaps, if there is going to be a problem with having them here by September 15, please pm me. You also have the option of dropping out of the swap. Any blocks received after September 15 will not be accepted and will be returned to you. There is plenty of time to sign up, and complete the blocks. It is not fair for those who do honor the deadline to be waiting and waiting and waiting.

Please review the rules that apply to all swaps. They apply to this swap, too. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-20154-1.htm

Please note, in particular, the rules for mailing and those regarding swappers who fail to fulfill their swap obligations.

If you want to make multiple sets, just make sure you have 12 blocks of each SET design. You will receive back as many sets as you send. The flat rate envelope will hold two sets. Any more than that, you will need another flat rate return addressed stamped envelope.

Question. . . I would like to use up stash and therefore not have all 12 blocks out of a single fabric choice. Would this be acceptable or would it confuse things too much?

Thanks for the clarification! I'll see what I can find that will do a whole set before I sign up.

Count me in. Am sending PM. Good to see you hosting again bookworm. Sure hope everyone doesn't use that same pattern, or do you want them all the same?

Ohhh this sounds interesting - especially with 'BLACK' as a background and bright fall colors for the leaves.

Before I sign up though I'd love to see a sample of the block using a 'black' background.
