Nancia good idea if it works for you. My timeline is when I sign up, then pull and match fabric, sew it and send. I'm just one of those that if it was sitting here I'd go nuts.
MamaHauser awesome grades even if there was an a-hole in your life at school too! Gotta' say as for Alice, it''s probably a really good thing you like her alot However, bet you don't stay in bed all day, you'll go nuts......

Nancia, not sure that particular line of reasoning works with me. When I get a project, I start working on it. May not finish it right away, but I'm like Jaba, if I don't get it out, it drives me crazy. Now, my own things, that's a different story - some of them sit for a looong time before they're finished. I've got a list for 2013 of projects already - and some of them are actually older quilts that I'm planning on finishing - some of them are hand work (crewel/cross stitch/surface embroidery) as well.
Mama, congrats on the good grades. Hopefully Alice will get better - and no puke is a good thing!! If I could convince my one cat Que of that that was a good thing, it would even be better.

we all do what we can. i have never defaulted on a swap, even when my mom died last year. i, too, have had things come in months later, and things just never get here at all. i have always thanked my swap partners , either by p.m., or more often on the thread. and i ask if there is a need for rushing.
mama-- good job!! there are unhappy people in every career. too bad you got the one at your school. 3.8 is nothing to sneeze at!! no puking is even better!! lol

Nancia no one was picking on you sweetie everyone was just stating how they work on things. I am sure you complete all your projects. I personally get in a panic mode if I dont get to something asap. The hard part however is when your due on several projects be it personal or here and then its for me the AHHHHH moment in life. I get sick to my stomach with nerves. You are obviously someone who is a whole lot more organized than me and handles things one day at a time. Good for you!

I have half way got the top done. I did see the 28" rule just wondered if most preferred long or super long? I like long and wide for the coffee table but smaller like a table topper which certainly is not 28" so that way we can put a hot dish on it and still all sit and have plates fit on the table too. so it depends on where its going. I am going for longer. Seems safe. I found the perfect middle block for the runner yup its blocks again but switched up a bit. I am working hard at using the two colors my partner asked for.. (that was your hint partner).. and it will get done right after Christmas going to finish the top today. Wish me luck! Snow.. Snow.. SNOW! (oodles of snow coming my way today).

Last CONGRATS to both our girls Anastasia (Erin) and Themomahauser (Kelly). You both are so smart and I think its wonderful that your out there in school with all those little kids (lol) and your flying high right on top of the pack. way to go!
Kelly you sound like your setting up for a really wonderful start on your new venture. I am so glad to here your pup is doing better they heal so much faster than we do. And you have are going to have a good holiday. You are a lucky lady.
Vanogay: love the table runner I wanted that one when it was posted a while back .. that is a very pretty lil quilt.

Mama, congrats on the grades! I graduated from college 2 weeks before my 39th birthday last year with a 3.87 GPA, so I know what a challenge it is. A puke-free Christmas is always a good thing. Good thoughts coming your way!

Oh, and I bet you didn't stay in bed all day either!

Good night from Denmark!

OH OH your in DENMARK sucks to be you huh? I am glad to hear you survived the flight and kept your spirts that is a long flight.. and you got there. So many flights are cancelled right now or delayed.. I think Chicago has 1000 plus flights that were cancelled. Talk about a backlog that will take days to clear up. I hope you share a bit of what Christmas is like with the Danes. I love going to new places trying new foods just exploring.. I will live your trip through your exploits. so have FUN and share. Oh and bring fabric back. oh yes absolutely yes. now that would be a GREAT trip

Thanks everyone

We just went to our first (and probably only) Christmas party for the season. I am thankful it was only one - we had a white elephant gift exchange and our gift to take home was a hello kitty bookbag and sleeping bag combo. Cause me (32 y/o woman), my husband (36 y/o dude), and my son (8 y/o midget-dude) are TOTALLY into hello kitty. *sigh*

I've got 3 quilts coming tomorrow... I am officially in business! My husband said that The Six (my LA) better start sewing $100 bills. Nice.

I hope all of you enjoy the snow (if you have it and want it). We're due to get snow on Sunday now - but that's ok. I've gotten all the grocery shopping done, present shipping complete, and fabric-buying errands finished. So, in theory, I don't need to leave the house for a week at least!

I'm so sick of being sick. I currently have a 3.86 gpa and it annoys me because it's only that low cause of my B+ in chemistry and that's cause my teacher was meticulous about commas and dashes and spaces and letter cases.. that's the only things I lost points on. It drove me nuts. He was honestly not the WORST teacher I've had, but pretty close. I almost signed up for another class with him and decided there was no way I had it in me to deal with his issues right now so he will have to wait and I took something else.

I think I changed my mind on the runner I plan to do. I was going to do something applique/whimsical but I remembered how much I dislike applique.. well.. DOING It... and how time consuming it is.. and as you see.. we're close to the end of the year and I'm sick and nothing is getting done around here and i have things that need to get out by the 1st. So I need to actually piece this runner so it gets done quickly and out on time. I'm so behind cause of last week's shift change, which through a combination of factors, resulted in my being sick this week so all I'm doing is pushing through work and passing out as soon as I'm home. I have to get my house ready this weekend for people to come over for Christmas. But I am going to try to sew SOMETHING this weekend. Hopefully one of my boom blocks. Maybe I should finish the dreaded applique one that's mostly finished. Eh maybe I should work on something that won't make me cringe so that I will actually.... DO it...

Erin, just do what makes you happy. The results will show it. I am sorry your still so sick. And also girl stop fretting the grades so many would clap and do a happy dance with those. You should do. there is always tomorrow for a different set of grades. Today its a no worry. And company .. oh I hope your ready for that.. doing Christmas or Christmas eve? same group coming over? snowy Christmas?

We had a huge winter storm warning the last two days snow is coming snow is coming.. well rain came. phew.. but again today this afternoon and through tomorrow another storm warning so who knows what we will get. company coming is based on if they can get down through Interstate 5 from Oregon as they are getting hit hard with the snow too. You know kids my 21 yr old says dont worry mom I have a great all wheel drive. groan. driving late at night in the snow probably as fast as that little car will go.. oh not worried at all. The upside if they dont come is we have a huge turkey and a monsterous prime rib so the two of us will eat all winter long so I am safe there lol.
