My tattoos are all pretty much hidden. I have one on my lower back (that I really don't like, so I want it covered) a large one on my side, and my son's name with a star and swirlies around my wrist. The wrist tattoo shouldn't ever sag, and it's something I'll never regret because he'll always be my son. My side tattoo is a large werewolf, and I'm sure it will get saggy, but by then I hopefully won't be wearing clothes that show off my belly up to my ribs! (It's only visible when I wear a swimsuit. I got it for me, not to show off.)

I would like to get more, but DH keeps me under control there. He doesn't like a ton of ink.

But he already married you - is he really willing to pay for a divorce over a tattoo?

Nah, he wouldn't divorce me over it. Just voices his opinion. If anything, I'm rubbing off on him, because he has two now; one is a pretty big one that takes up most of his calf.

Cool

It's mine- I got MY tablerunner from LoupEsprit. I know just how much work went into this piece of art - and I do recall all her frog stiches too!! I love lighthouses - see picture of the wall right next to table - and this is a perfect fit. Even the topstiching is awesome!! Experience comes with practice and that is what we all do. We learn from our mistakes and move onward. I love it - thank you so very much!

WOW! That's amazing! I love it! I'm jealous. You know that don't you?

I have a friend who got a whole coral reef scene tattooed on her lower stomach. When she got pregnant, it actually looked pretty cool on her 8 month pregnant tummy. I don't have any issues with people having tattoos. When they're well done, they're really cool, even though there are some things that I do find strange about what some people choose to permanently carry on their body.

I just saw this right after I claimed another batch of fabrics from the local yard sale site (6 yards of 3 really cute fabrics for $15...how could I pass that up? There were 2 more I wanted, but I restrained myself!) & I had to share:

"
Over the many years that I have been quilting, several general principles have applied: 1. There is no cure for the quilting habit. 2. We all buy fabric as though it will suddenly become unavailable next week. 3. We spend an irrational amount of time using as little as possible of one acquired fabric. 4. Many quilters have a soft spot for cats."

That is actually all to true!

I just heard from my eldest today. he said he is owed one small tat and a full back tat come June. I asked um why are you owed this? for having his job six months and if he has it a whole year he gets a free whole back. I groaned. This is my nephew the wonderful gifting these things. I am thrilled. He does give great tattoos but well a WHOLE BACK? when he turned 21 he was gifted three compasses on his back near his neck. I was oh so happy. now a whole back? heck. ok voiced my happiness. guess I will say wow that looks good .. your back. sigh. double sigh.

Anastasia sorry about those tattoos of yours going east. upside? your eyes wont be nearly as good by then so you will not even notice for that many more years and only because the doc says something about your tattoos and you will respond "WHAT TATTOOS??" see getting old has some benefits I hope you do not discover any decade soon.

Now onto majorly important things.. I snuck into the post office today and guess what? WHAT you say.. well.. nothing absolutely nothing. maybe tomorrow.

last note: quiltermomma do you know what you get in a rated G movie these days? a lot more than you get here. thats what. who took away the value of ratings on movies anylonger? they go from what used to be a real PG movie is now a g movie and what is a pg13 movie would have gotten an X not too many years ago. Heck I am still shocked to hear every swear word out there on regular tv. We are incredibly tame by comparison

Well, Brat, there are entirely toooooo many of these runners in the mail somewhere between there and here. One of them has to be yours and one has to be mine. Waiting, waiting...
On the issue of tats - I am of that generation or upbringing, not sure where it "YOU DID WHAT?" (in that tone of voice, too). My oldest son does have them, not sure how many, but he was Navy and what the pack does, the pack does. I'm not sure I'd even entertain one because..., well, probably just because. I think some of them look nice, but not for me.

Vanogay, I'm hoping one of the mailed ones is mine too. I can't wait! The suspense is killing me!

I'm not a person who would generally get a tattoo. But, when my dad died, my cousin's husband got a cursive "D" with a halo on it for him on the inside of his forearm, and I thought that was really cool. This cousin's sister died of breast cancer in 1993, at 33 yrs old, and so she went when her husband got that and had a breast cancer ribbon "ring" tattooed on her finger. She said that was a very painful choice of location. Anyway, when I saw them, I actually considered getting something very small too, but I've never seen anything that screamed my dad that I'd want to live with the rest of my life. Then there's the question of placement. When your boyfriend is a professor and department chair at a university, you have to be even more careful about the choices you make and how they'll be perceived by department donors and his bosses (it's maddening sometimes). Places they can't be seen, I'm not sure I'm brave enough to let them poke voluntarily, lol. Yes, I'm a chicken when it comes to pain!

Oh yeah, I forgot to add.....my new sewing table will be here tomorrow! I can finally get off the kitchen table! (Insert way too giddy bouncing up & down & clapping here...)
