i want to add to my post that i have a sore finger that makes me say, "ouch! darn it!!" a lot. and since my mom is no longer around to write me a note, would it be ok if my oldest dog, or cat, wrote it for me? i would ask my dh to but he says since it's my other hand it doesn't count, and is no excuse for my not being done, but my cocker spaniel understands and that's why i want her to sign the note. i'll write it since she can't spell long words (like 'finger., cause she doesn't have any and it's mean to wag it in her face ( birth defect, she was born without fingers) but she wags her tail really well, and that's something i can't do ( birth defect, i was born with out a tail) so each of us has to use what gifts we were given, and i was 'given' a sore owwwy finger and that's why i'll be a little late with my table-runner gift to some eon else. thank you

Nancia, thanks for making me smile!!! Actually, I was ROTFLMAO. I've always wanted to write that, now I did. Talk about build up to be let down. LOL Anyway, My dear dog is sitting next to me at my desk, at work. And he would sign anything I gave him just to be sitting here. It is a good thing we are, generally, a pet friendly office. I hope your finger gets feeling better soon. Monday night I fell out of my DH truck, foot slipped on the ice. Hit my back on the running board, landed in icey cold water. What hurt the most on my way home was my finger. Must have jammed it on something. Of course later that night and the next two days, I found pain in places I forgot exhisted!!!

oh, buslady! that sounds just awful! i have those parts, too, and they are quite annoying, showing up when you least need them!! i hope they soon go back to oblivion where they belong. actually, my finger is acting like a jammed finger (as opposed to jellied fingers, yum!) but i don't recall jamming it and usually when that happens you know it! of course, you had a lot of distraction with the back, and it was very smart of you to apply ice right away, before you even stood up, clever! hope you feel better immediately!

Oh I hate to slip and fall. I fell last winter on the floor of our garage. The contractor screwed up when they were building the house, and instead of fixing it right, they did something that made it look even worse, so when we complained, they painted the floor. Well, whenever it gets wet, it's slick, but not usually too bad. I'd been sick about 10 days and hurt so bad all over from being in bed so long, so I'd used a certificate I had for a 1/2 hour massage, then gone for a pedicure. I got in the car to come home in those funny little thin shoes they give you, and it started pouring rain. My choices were to wade through the lake that covers the walkway to the porch when it rains or chance tip-toeing through the garage. I got far enough inside not to get wet anymore when I ended up sprawled out across the floor with 1 foot pointed toward each door. I sat up and just sat there and cried, and when I could think straight, I called my son on my cell phone to come help. "Where are you?" he asked. "In the garage." "HUH?" I went inside and went to bed and cried some more. It was another week before I felt human again, and 2 weeks before the bruises healed.

Nothing we can do with the contractor either. He filed bankruptcy and left people stuck all over town.

I fell on the stairs of a restaurant in April and destroyed my shoulders. I was unable to quilt for about 6 months. I now have 4 screws in each shoulder and am still going to therapy. When you get old, you don't heal as quickly as you did when you were younger. Please be careful.

I was out doing my exercise - walking - in October, when I fell and broke my shoulder/arm. I was in a splint for a number of weeks and all through the therapy. My foot and knee on the other side, were still hurting, so finally broke down and went to the podiatrist yesterday - seems I also broke my big toe when I fell and I have an appointment tomorrow morning to see if there's any damage to the knee. I expected the aches and pains after the fall, but when they didn't heal, I got worried - guess that was good to go to the doctor, but not happy with the results.

You guys! STop it right now. ENOUGH OF THIS FALLING. As my dear father used to say when we were kids in a real loud voice WHO GAVE YOU PERMISSION TO DO THAT? boy thetears dried up and I would try to comeup with some lame duck excuse and he would go into my not doingthings like that again unless I have permission and me crying ok I wont and forgetting all about the fact I fell off my bike hit my face on the curb edge was black and blue from the check to the forehead. ah to be a kid. You guys did nothave permission . So stop that immediately. I am so sorry to hear you got hurt. Twinkie I am triple sorry . How your doing that and raising kids thats a tough row to hoe. I will hope it gives you some peace and that warmer weather will keep any pain away. You guys are so right healing is so much easier when you are younger. I seem to take forever on some things and zoom through others.

Nowonto fun things like tablerunners. I think mine is going to be arriving..soon. one day. this month. when it gets here. I am patient. I have a lovely already on my table. ha! I get two this month. Talk about smiling all the way to the post office.

Elisabrat, lol, sounds like something my dad would have said. I remember when I had a tooth loose and hurting when I was probably 8, he had me point to it, "Elbow up & push it back. I can't see in there." Then BAM! He popped me in the elbow & knocked it out. I was too mad at him for tricking me to realize it hurt.

Oh I can't wait to get my runner! Deadline is almost here! It's like Christmas all over again!

I bought fabric and a little bin today that's about the size of a square tissue box. I'm going to make something interesting for a friend's mom who's in a nursing home. I'll share when it's done!
