Default Another Woman's Treasure Swap! Sign up thru July 31st, 2013!

Another Woman's Treasure Swap!

We all have that pile of fabric that we're not going to do anything with. Like they say, one woman's trash is another woman's treasure!! Why not send it on to someone else, and freshen your stash?

This is a fabric swap for medium flat rate boxes (MFRB) chock full of goodies! Fabric should be 100% cotton used for quilting. If you have books, buttons, thread, notions, or other goodies, those are fair game too, but the bulk of the box should be fabric. Remember, these are things you're ready to part with and get something awesome in return! Yardage, scraps, charms, jelly rolls, FQ, F8, etc!

Medium flat rate boxes ship for about $12, and you can fit a LOT of fabric in them. And remember, as long as you can shut it, it ships! Stuff that baby full!

Swap rules:

Any number is welcome. If we only get a few takers, we'll still do the swap!

You will receive one medium flat rate box for every one MFRB you send out. Partners will be chosen randomly by yours truly. You will be sending your box to the same person who will be receiving yours. Please stuff your box FULL! We want only happy swappers!

Measurements of the Medium flat rate box: 13-5/8" x 11-7/8" x 3-3/8" (the bigger one). There is a smaller medium box that we don't want to use. We want to give as good as we get!

This is my first time hosting a swap, so I'm open to opinions or changes.

As always, please only send out the same quality you would want to receive.

Please take a picture of the contents of the box you send out in case your partner cannot post pictures. And please post pictures of your box so we can all lust over the new additions to your stash!

This swap has been approved by PatriceJ.

Please notify frenchfryqueen as soon as possible if you feel you cannot complete your obligation. Please don’t sign up if you don’t think you can send out a medium flat rate box in the time allotted. If problems arise, COMMUNICATION IS KEY!! We want only happy endings for my first swap (and all swaps after that!!)

****Please make sure to read the general rules that apply to all swaps here at the Quilting Board: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-20154-1.htm ****

Participants should send frenchfryqueen a PM to provide tracking info and verify their box has been sent.

Participants are required to ensure packages will not arrive “postage due.”

Any and all other fees, such as import duties, taxes, etc imposed by the recipient’s government are the sole responsibility of the recipient.

Absent legitimate and reported mitigating circumstances, participants who have not fulfilled their obligation to ship by August 31st shall be deemed “late” and risk receiving Negative [Swap] Feedback.

Please keep in touch with frenchfryqueen as required. Please let her know right away if something happens that will interfere with your ability to complete your project on time.

You are participating at your own risk-- please do not publicly complain about the quality of your received box. If you have a legitimate complaint, please PM me. Communication is key!

Please PM FRENCHFRYQUEEN with the following information by July 31st. She will then match up names and get them returned to you by 5th. You will have until August 31st to mail your box. You must provide tracking information to me with a note that your box has been sent.

Board Name:
Real Name:

Do you have any allergies:
Do you have any allergens (cats, dogs, smoker):

LOL its yours run with it! I would add : ONLY QUILT SHOP QUALITY 100 percent cotton fabrics. no thin lining fabrics, 70's vintage poly/cotton stuff that would not please a swapper at all who is sharing good fabric they are bored with. also those boxs hold 5-6 yrds of fabric. some should consist say half of it at least of larger pieces 1/2 yrd or larger. otherwise someone might only get snippets and 1.5 inch size pieces which wouldnt be fair also. just my own humble (go ahead laugh) opinion.. Good luck girl! this could be a fun swap. I just donated all my unused not needing fabrics when I moved here a week ago or I would play.. a huge box of christmas stuff.

Sounds like fun. Let me see if it works for me. From what size to what size? Thanks for translating it into yardage. That is very helpful. Do we check what our partner likes or is it a mystery box?

No Elisabrat, it is a good point. I have plenty of nice small scraps already and for me 1 1/2 in. is just too small. Strips 2 1/2 and up and squares 5 inches and up unless your partner wants smaller??

Totally agree Elisabrat and Annaquilts.. I only use snippets for small applique pieces, so far I just don't make crumb quilts or small block quilts unless it's a certain block in a sampler quilt. I also just donated a huge box of fabrics..but I think I still have plenty (my dh would be laughing so hard if he read where I just wrote "I think I have plenty", as our lil 4 yr old granddaughter calls my fabric room "Grammy' s fabric shop"). I am sure I will sign up as it sounds like fun, and I can already picture each of us getting in our packages..woo-hoo!!
Off to sort and such, will pm you as soon as I know for sure.
Regards,
Kif
PS I also have a lot of embellishments, vintage buttons, etc as I make crazy quilt squares...whats the consensus on tucking in a few things like that?

All good ideas, Brat. Ideally, people will send mostly larger pieces easily used by quilters of all skill levels (half yard or more, and large "scraps"- F8 size.) We definitely want to send out things that are usable.. maybe not, for example, selvages for this particular swap.

Anna- also a good point. I would say no smaller than 2.5 inch squares, for sure. My original plan was for it to be a mystery box, but if you have more "trash" than you have room in the box, I see no problem with you getting input from your partner on what she'd like.

Kiffie- embellishments, notions, buttons, thread, books, patterns, anything like that is welcome as long as the box is mostly fabric. If you have a few things to tuck in, feel free. I'm sure your partner will enjoy it.

Oohhhh I'm going to have to keep pondering on this for a bit yet.... I would LOVE to play but I have to see what the funds will look like first. I'm able to do one swap a month if I use a priorty flat rate envelope .... so pondering it is. But It sure sounds like fun!!!

Sincerely,
Tricia

Oh man, to get rid of the fabric I purchased at the time was on sale and thought I liked, hmmmm, this could be interesting. Let me peek at what I have. I do have some Christmas fabric I need to get recycled into use as well. Before I committ, let me think on this and see if I can fill a box.
