Thank you for the welcome lynnie! I have been following these swaps for quite awhile, wanting to play, but getting cold feet at the last minute....... Since no one knows me, I'll give you just a little background about me. I grew up in the suburbs of Portland, Oregon on a small farm and my 'zoo' right now is only a tri-colored Australian Shepherd as we lost our big, red Golden Retriever last year. Several years ago my husband's job transferred him to the Phoenix area, hence 'Cactus Stitchin'. I have been sewing since about age 9, although most of my 30 year career in HR was a bit too demanding for me to do very much of it. After moving to Phoenix I was able to begin again and 2 years ago my husband gave me an embroidery/combo sewing machine which fulfilled a lifelong dream.

I am looking forward to this swap and will do my very best to be a good partner!

what machine do you have. I have the pe770 brother.
i'm still on that learning curve on the computer part. I used to be a casket embroiderer that was fun.
anyway, welcome aboard the fun. You'll see we're a great group here. Have fun.

Mine is a Brother Issadore 5000 that I absolutely love. It's a workhorse and already has over 4 million stitches on it. I use several of the 'Buzz' softwares on the pc for managing my designs, resizing, and editing but have not ventured into the world of digitizing. So far many of my projects have been Anita Goodesign.

Make sure you check the sign up list that is posted here by Ctyankee. between us we are trying to insure no one is forgotten. Please let her know if your name should be on there!

Also can I say I am going to ask people to pay close attention to the rules of this board. It states clearly all items are to be SEWN together. this means no fusing, no gluing no staple guns lol. Seriously take a few minutes more of your time and sew the edges together properly. If you can NOT do binding don't stress it too much then do a turn it inside out, sew the inside seam, flip it right side out again and sew along the edging in a 1/4 seam to give it a cleaner edge. I am getting a lot of complaints about the incorrect way of closing things up so remember its not a picking on you deal its simply remember to read the rules and follow them and we all will be happier. Trust me I think you should give as good as you can. If you don't know how why not write your partner and ask them for help on this. There are some tremendously good people here who will GLADLY give you assistance on how to do the edging. Perhaps if someone can post a link to a how to bind in several ways that would be awesome! show how to bind with binding! show how to bind with the flip and turn method! its pretty easy. I did flip and turn for a long time and still do on simple things. if you note lots of people do this here. Binding is truly lovely but if you cant do it YET don't worry!

hope that helps everyone clarify what you can and cant do. also sign ups: send to Ctyankee your NAME AND ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER (should the occasion arise where I need to contact you it will not be given out to anyone for public viewing). thanks!

SIGN UP Today your running out of thinking time! its time to think of sweet things. maybe its puppies? is it candy? is it a bouquet of Mothers Day flowers? is it pinks and yellows like a sweet treat? is it cupcakes and CANDY (hearing lots of candy lovers out there)? make sure you put it in your sign up what you love or post it here and hope your partner will see it or.. when you write your partner to trade information why not say I sure do love this sweet thing!

note: two people wrote they do not LOVE spiders at all so lets skip them this month. surely the list is longer.

Well, like most people, I hate spiders.

I LOVE candy, love chocolate, cake, cupcakes, twinkies, Suzy q's.
orange cupcakes, snowballs, hohos and yodels, Did I say chocolate,
I love icing, frosting whipped cream and sprinkles, jimmies and cherries

I think you get it. all things sweet. oh and all candies. I'm not prejudiced.
if has sugar on top or in it I love it. if it has nuts or chocolate coverd nuts,
or syrup, chocolate, strawberry ect, I love it. Vanilla shakes, chocolate ones too.

Just some ideas for my partner.
