I have some sad news and I just don't even know where to turn. Well you know the Quilt I was making for my friend the school teacher, she passed away and it is so sad, I wish there were words in my vocabulary to express the sadness. She had no children of her own, she had a classroom full every year. Her Husband of 46 years died last December and she was diagnosed with breast Cancer in January. We really thought she was going to beat it but, I think her fight just wasn't there with losing her life partner. Anyway she will be one of my Angels that I run for. I am not really sure what I am going to do with the quilt I had planned, I am sure God will show me what to do, but for now it is going into a UFP bin under the bed.

I don't usually spend a lot of time explaining why I run but with this so fresh I just want to share. Too many women die way too young, we need to find a cure. My sister lost her battle when she was only 38. I will keep running until they find a cure~ To my Friend Donna, it was a blessing for me to have known you~

Marybeth, I am so very sorry to hear about your friend. I can't imagine the pain you feel. We lost my grandmother when she was 58 to breast, ovarian and lung cancer. They think that she had it awhile before they found it. She was one of those people who refused to go to the doctor. I never refuse to go to the doctor and get my yearly check-up's faithfully. I am an advocate to all my friends and family also. Just know that I send prayers to your friends family and to yours. Hugs

Marytoddliz I am so sorry. Hugs and prayers to you today. Did she have a sister? You need to finish the quilt as a remembrance or do an embroidered center with her name on it and donate to the school. Just an idea. Hugs!!!

Oh Marybeth, I am so sorry. For your friend, for your sister, for all who battle each day. Are you taking pledges for your run ? Can you share the details on QB or by PM? Hugs and tears, Miriam

Marybeth, I am very sorry at your friends passing. I know it brings up so many emotions inside. Know everytime you share your stories you have only hope that you inspire everysingle woman who hears you to get out and get tested. Its a basically painfree test that can save your life.. early detection ladies is the key. We know it but do you do it?

The quilt I think should go to someone in the cancer ward who needs that extra bit of comfort. Not everyone has someone you know? the kids will be sad but like children everywhere they recover very quickly. Or perhaps a quilt for a child at the childrens hospital just a random gift to a lonely child. apples? they would love it and all the rest .. just a thought I know you wont let it pass. If she had any family a rememberance quilt .. in her honor. I have made my share of those type quilts and they are tough but healing also. For the maker and the family who wants acknowledgement that that one person mattered.

onto quilts: the one for the quilt teacher had me scared out of my pants. I did not want to mess up at all. I was worried about it all to the point it upset my stomach.. that worried. So it was not a riddle so much as a this is how I dealt with it and still I lost one point. Decided to let it go, never claimed to be perfect. it was not fun however and I do like fun. Also that it wasnt a puppy was my way of saying see I remember the puppies but didnt do it .. this time. Next time no guarantees. She will run from my stuff if I keep sending her puppy stuff.

Now to work on those cowboy boots.. a little blue/black tiny check and a nice gold to go with it and they will come out very nicely.. or maybe its that real red that says use me.. all are sitting here waiting for me to start slicing and dicing them into something new and amazing (no i am not nearly Edward Scissor Hands with my cutter.. I am way slower but still end up with tons of trimmings lol).

Thank you very much all of you. I was just so shocked, I just knew she was going to get better. But God is still in control and she has been reunited with her beloved husband.

The quilt will let me know when it is ready to be finished. I will wait until after the first of the year.

I have two more blocks to make then I am all done with the boom, except waiting for the cuties to come home!
