Your right April has been VERY quiet. We miss you April. I hope its just that school has started.. that is one crazy week.

Anastasia I am still holding out.. probably wont work for long but trying and thank you for finishing my block in rapid lighteng speed. I had a tough sewing day yesterday.. I guess some days are better than others. Hate my finished block so now do I tear it all out? take in a few seams then add a border.. it is exactly the right size BUT the points are not sharp enough so if I take them in bingo fix that problem BUT end up half an inch short which is one seriously stupid border of 1/4 inch on each side.. tear it apart end up with four four inch useable blocks and left over 2.5 x 18 " strip so what to do then.. I went online to order more of the darned fabric to reduce my panic and can only get one yard of it .. is pretty but that is one expensive mistake. It goes with this processing thing I have going on. Frustrating ladies frustrating big time. Now off to see what can be done now. No tears today solutions only.

hope you get the most out of your sewing today. Doghouse mom, congrats on making a perfect block.. that is indeed a rare thing. Photograph it and frame it in case it was an accident! no one will tell. Perfect has not been my best friend lately. Semi perfect is one of those OMG I did itmoments. So back to simple things until I get the grove back.

Where is the birthday girl?

Hi Ladies,
Sorry I have been MIA, I took the weekend off of the computer lol Too much computer time really aggravates my IH so I have to take breaks here and there
Though I did get a lot accomplished this weekend, I am so proud of myself lol
I have received the following F8s
Anastasia
buddy'smom
CharlotteMarie
DogHouseMom
Elisabrat
Jaba
moonwork42029
OK Darla
travelinggramma

Of these F8s I have completed blocks going home on Wednesday to:

Moonwork42029 (you are actually getting two..the first one I did I was supposed to use a triangle ruler and used the wrong one so it went together in a circle instead of the square it was supposed to make. I finagled it a little and made it in to a 12.5" square block but you may not want to use it..completely up to you. To me it kind of looks like a spiderweb but hey I have vision issues so who knows lol. I had to scrounge the leftovers from mom and my F8 from you to make a second acceptable block. )

DogHouseMom-IHope you like your block I had fun with it. And I made you a 6" x 9" so you can get the feel you are trying to. I just hope it works. I am going to send you back the leftover fabric as well so you can make more blocks if you need to.

Jaba-I also hope you like your block, another fun one for me

Elisabrat-I sure hope I got the Shabby chic right and that you enjoy your block.

NYGal all we ask is you do your best. The fun part of this swap is the learning and growing and making new friends! One thing i learned early on is the 12.5' ruler is my bestest friend in this swap lol

I have a super busy next couple of days at work as I am in the process of buying a building to move our headquarters to so I am now in due diligence mode to make sure there is nothing majorly wrong with it so if there is I can get my deposit back and look some more. We have been looking for almost two years and keeping fingers crosses, so far this one looks like it will major issues! Yippee!! I am off work from Wednesday through next Tuesday so hope to get a lot of relaxing, sewing and house cleaning done (though the cleaning part sends my IH in to fits..really need a maid..wonder if my insurance would pay for that for medical reasons???? :-P )

Next week Izzy starts first grade. And although she is excited, I still have not received who her teacher is or what supplies she needs so I am off to call the school.
I also start classes again next week so going to be crazy busy soon..shunt don't fail me now LOLOL

Hope you all have a fabulous week and a very Happy Birthday to you as well gramma.
Hugs
April

Well ... that makes two of us cause I sent you your block PLUS the "practice" block I made. The practice block is using the same color scheme as the real block - but not your fabric. If you can use it in the quilt - great - if not - you'll find something.

Lucky you indeed!!

Woo Hoo... I'll do the "happy dance" which has been confused with the "I gotta find a potty now dance".

Better than playing the slot machines

Oh thank you for the Birthday song.....I don't answer my phone when my grands call so they leave a song on my machine and I replay it all year!!! (then I call them back and thank them!!)
I have some blocks finished - just gotta get them in the correct envelopes and I will post. Am taking a break from working on our storage shed....i took everything out this morning to install new shelving so I could find stuff, only to find that 1/3 of the floor was rotted. Quess what our project of the day is!!!! Our wonderful neighbor is directing this comical act of ours and we are doing the labor - haha - just trying to figure out what he is saying is labor enough for me...but so glad for the free help!
DH is off to homeDepot with his list so I get a few moments down time. now what to have for lunch....hhhmmmm
