I'm back!! I can't wait to see that block with 169 pieces!?!?!? Just can't even understand how! And you can showcase all of your blocks at any time - love seeing how they all play together!
Anyway - We are having dry weather here in AZ - upper 60's during the day and 30's at night. And loving each moment of it - I grew up on the east coast and that humidity just sunk right into the bones.

Well, I sent out two blocks on Wednesday, and this is Friday and I just finished two of the last blocks. Phannie, Elisabrat, your blocks would have gone out today, but I went out for lunch with my two girls..and just finished the last one tonight, it is 6:15pm. So, they will go out tomorrow if I can find a place to mail them,...no post offices that are open and I have never mailed them at UPS..anybody???? I am done, I have finished all 16 blocks. This has truly been fun. Mayyyyybe I will do it again.....I still have blocks from way back that still need to be put into quilts...I am so slow, I love starting new things and I get them done, but the older ones...not so much...
Teresa, thanks for the reply on the tablerunner. I loved that fabric, but that is one of those 10 minute table runners, and I put batting just in the middle so it is softer. I did piece one with that fabric as well, and I did put it on the longarm. I love to play, but there never seems to be enough time in the day..it all takes TIME...Here is a picture of the pieced one. Enjoy, and thank you all for a fun shop. I will wait for the others I have coming in to post a picture of them all. And no, I have not heard from savannahrandons either. ctmhjenn

I received this "unbelievable" block from Doghousemom yesterday! For some reason I feel very inadequate. How did you do this? It's Beautiful!, and the back is just as beautiful as the front!
Now the problem is, Do I actually put it in my quilt, or Frame it as artwork? I am truly mesmerized!

I am one lucky swapper!!
Thank you Sue

So glad you like it Teresa ... I answered your PM, but I'll post here as well.

The technique is called "fracturing". You need 4 repeats of the fabric to do it (yes, I went out and purchased extra yardage of Teresa's F8). I knew when I saw your fabric that I couldn't bear to cut it ... except to put it all back together again the same way It SCREAMED 'fracture me!!'

There are two ways to do fracturing that I know of, one way was to use squares and more squares etc and seemed terribly complicated (that technique had appeared in an American Quilter magazine). The technique intrigued me but the instructions were hurting my brain. Then I found the book "Fabulous Fractures" and TA DA! It's strip pieced!! SO easy ... providing you can A) follow instructions, measure accurately, and sew straight lines. Piece of cake (but I must admit ... I had stupid moments and managed to screw up step A ... three times ... how embarrassing).

here's the book ... http://www.amazon.com/Fabulous-Fract.../dp/B0026XRCXW
