    I ended up making two quilts from this swap. One for last Christmas and one for this Christmas. What a difference the sashing colors make.

    Love your quilts. You're right about the sashing, totally different effect.

    The red stars make the squares look like they're floating! Sashing colors do make the quilt! Some of the blocks I've received from the different swaps went into lap covers-just 2 layers of material for a local nursing home-I gave them to a woman who had been making these up for years and she made about 20 covers using all different blocks from the different swaps. I still have a selection from each swap for my personal use, these were ones I felt were too lovely to just sit around until I had time to use

    The red one was my favorite, but the one with gold does look better than the picture shows. The colors are washed out in the picture. I did not have enough of the floral fabric to use that as the inner border, so I had to use a sashing color that contrasted with the burgundy border.
