Default secret santa

The thread for the 2013 Secret Santa was closed last evening before I could finish reading all 23 pages of comments. Would really like to participate. Is it closed already????????

i cannot find the thread you speak of. in looking into the past threads, the swap signups seem to start in september. i think i remember that there was a thread this year discussing that there will be a swap this year, but it was not the actual swap. depending how those discussions were going, it may have been deleted. put a reminder on your calendar to look in september for the signups. it should be in the Member Swaps forum. Secret Santa will be starting back up in September for sign-ups. I'm still tweaking the rules for it.
Everyone needs to stay tuned.

Thank goodness. I saw this post and thought I had totally missed it. I have already been collecting items to send.

Now is the time to start collecting little things. It could be a seam ripper, thread (on sale), fat quarters, anything that you think the person you'll get would like. I usually find things that I like and send them on. I keep shoe boxes full of little items. Never know when you might need them.

Whew! I'm glad it's not closed, too! I've been collecting ever since the '12 one finished. Eager to go again in '13.

Debbieoh...The Secret Santa swap is really simple .... if you'd like it the person you are given by the "head elf" aka tlrnhi will like it.
I have been doing this swap since 2009 and one of the boundaries I follow is how much $$ do I have to pay for shipping? If it's a small amount I don't send a huge gift... if shipping is going to be ok, I pack a larger box...
This board has some very "naughty" elves and we love teasing each other... It's a lot of fun... you take everything tongue in cheek and don't stress....

The rules are simple. 4 fat quarters and a gift to not exceed $20. There are those that do go over the limit, but nothing we can do about it. Most people will use Flat Rate Boxes and stuff them as full as they can. Those boxes are usually cheaper than regular mailings. One reason to start collecting early with sales. You can spend $20 and actually have about $100 worth of "gifts". Does that mean you HAVE to spend $20? No, not at all. All that is asked is that the gift is tasteful and something that can be used or purposed. We have in the past, had some that thought that trash was a good idea to put in the package. When I mean trash, I'm meaning just that. The "gift" was something that should have actually have been tossed in the trash.
Ideas of gifts....
thread, scissors, tweezers, needles, pins, any quilt gadget, extra fabric, magazines,,,,you get the idea.
There is help from the person you will get. They will "hopefully" let you know their likes and dislikes.
This is all S E C R E T. Hence the name Secret Santa. Packages are to be marked on the outside so there is no fear of it being opened before hand. There will be a date for opening (date is determined by majority of who is playing).
This is just a bit of the rules.
Like I said, I'm tweaking the rules for this year.
SO
STAY
TUNED!!!

Also, if you have any questions, feel free to PM me
