Hello everyone
Sorry I have been MIA yet again. Had two brain surgeries one on the 7 and one on the 19th. Finally able to sit at the computer for a little bit and get caught up
I received more beautiful blocks in and I know one was a hysterical bra from Goldendog and a wonderful house from Lisa & her dad. Izzy noticed the number on the house matched ours before I did-thank you so much! I also received two great animal appliques from Urgodschild. I remember one is a turtle and I am pretty sure the other is a butterfly (if I am wrong please forgive me as the blocks are not in front of me and I am doing this on my recovering memory lol) I love them and know Iz will too!!
I love all of the blocks I have received. I will get pictures and an updated list posted soon.
How is everyone doing?

I am also going to post one of my usual gentle reminders again This is not directed at any one person but just an overall for everyone as my duty as hostess.

1). Please remember when taking pictures that no personal information should be visible in the picture (no envelopes or tags on the block with addresses and such.)
2). Please do not rush to get blocks made. This is not a race or a contest to see who can finish first but more a swap designed to stretch our capabilities to try new colors, new block patterns and new techniques. If you have been doing 9 patches for awhile, how about stretching just a little and try a churn dash or a friendship star. I know we all start somewhere, believe me my first blocks probably left A LOT to be desired, and heck I am sure some of mine do now but I try to make sure those blocks never make it out of my front door. Send something you would be proud to call your own and have in your own quilt. Size is important folks. We all want to be able to use the blocks we receive in our project without having to modify them or cut them down. Measure, Measure and measure again Any help we are ALL here to provide that. This is a Friendship swap after all
3). Please try to adhere to any requests a member may make. If they ask for you to please use only white it would be great if that is what was done. If there are no requests, than by all means have a ball! (that's what I do lolol I love picking out fabrics)
4). I think that is it for now...I may post gentle reminders again but again that is all they are. No one person is being singled out or admonished

Anything else? Send me a message.
Hugs
April

April glad you are up and about again. I am also glad that you like the turtle and the butterfly. I had so much fun making them.
I have been starting to sweat over the many envelopes I still have to make and so I figured that if I do three a day I can be done by April 15. That made me feel a little better because I was looking at JUne 1 and it seemed to be creeping ever so close. LOL. I made three today but none for this group and I received two ... lol...not from this group.
BUT I have to say that the blocks that I have seen so far are so beautiful and I just know that the quilts are going to be beautiful. Keep up the good work everyone.

Hopefully April won't mind but Dad really wants everyone to see her block...he had such a kick with it. Since she has received it and posted about it, here goes.

He "hee'd and haw'd" when the pink fabric came in and rejected so many options of what to do. He vetoed the background house fabric several times and insisted the stripes on the canopy had to show up more. He was very opinionated about it (if you couldn't tell). He finally gave his approval when the lady through the door made him snicker. I'm so glad you and Izzy enjoyed the block. He referred it to the lady with the bad brain but naughty fabric.

We are very thankful you are recovering and hope it is a quick and successful time for you.
