Stitchingpost
You can send all the same fabric, different fabrics, the choice is yours. If you want a purple & yellow quilt you can alternate and send half the group one color and half the group the other. You can ask them to please use a white background for their block if you wish but you cannot ask for a specific block as the idea to this swap is for people to stretch and grow and try new things.
It would have a mailing deadline of somewhere between the end of November and mid-December based on when signups close.
You can make the same block for everyone if you wish or you can make everyone something different or you can make the same block for half and a different one for the other half-again all up to you your choice. This is designed to help members stretch their skills, learn new techniques & work in colors they may not have necessarily chosen to use because it is outside of their comfort zone.
Hope this helps and if you have any other questions, I am here to help.
Hugs
April

I've been scouring blocks, I want to pick one that highlights the main fabric sent to me. I don't want their block to be about the fabric I add in. KWIM? I think I have found it. I'm using just one, because I can cut my fabric before I receive and then get a faster turn around for them as I go. I want to make one asap to make sure it will look as good in this size as I'd like.

I'm a simple strip piecer who likes basic blocks with good seams and nice work. So, that is what I like to give. I'm glad to be in this, and glad to meet all of you! Piece to you!

BTW... For those who are wondering, That's not really me in my avatar pic. I'm 56, I have blonde hair, green eyes, I am a wife of one man, the mom of 7, the Nana of 8. I live in the country. And I scrapbook too. Alot.

Kensington and stitchpost you may want to look up Boom 7 groups and look at their albums and see the members blocks they received. This might give you an idea because every fabric that you receive will be different fabric, then you choose what block to make and what fabric you have that will blend with that person's fabric, unless they have included a note and said please only use yellow and green, my background will be white. that way stitchingpost has sent everyone the purple fabric for an example. And keep in mind that you may receive a similar request to only use a certain color or to please not use a certain one. If you look in my albums received are the ones that I got back, I sent out the fabric that has the pottery pots. albums sent are the fabrics pieces I received from the other group members and this is the blocks I made from their fabric and returned to them. Hope it helps you, just trying to give suggestion that may make it a little easier. Hope you have fun with this.

I like working with small groups so I do not get over committed. I already have plans for this quilt! I am going to get it together and donate it to the local humane shelter for them to raffle it for donations. I found the cutest fabric on my Delaware Vacation..... Let the swapping being.... Kinda excite.. LOL you all can't tell, can you!
