Welcome to the Quilting Board!

I'm in! Going to dig for stripes. Strips of stripes.
Just picked up a copy of Quilting Arts simply because there is an article on quilting with tiny strips!

The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want..... for anything
Yesterday I mentioned the issue of Quilting Arts with the interesting strip quilts. Well, last night I finally had a moment to sit down and read two articles on them. The first was about the artist and the second was her technique. I almost fell off my chair (while wrapped in my new quilt) when I read that she lost her studio in Hurricane Irene! There was a photo of her studio and it looked just like mine, except her chair remained upright. Well this is too weird - my decision to work in strips after the flood sort of mirroring her experience (except that she is famous and I am not
) so I just emailed her. Why? Who knows, but I did. Anyway, if you're interested in her work, here is her website.

The art quilter I mentioned above, Ann Brauer, wrote back to me! What a sweetheart she is. I never in a million years thought I'd hear from her but ... surprise! I was so thrilled. I'm hoping that maybe in the summer I can visit her studio. That would be so much fun!

Finished my very scrappy, strippy top today. It's been awhile since I've been in on one of these swaps-- I'm very excited![]()
