February 2016 Postcard Swap
#122
Dee that is so cute. The first card I made I had a mocking bird and the nest it was in, but the other parts I had on it I didn't like so I made a different one. I love that little nest, and I also made a postage stamp type look. We ended up getting more snow where we live so mine is going to be later going out than I expected or want, but will be before deadline.

Here is a picture of my drive way.

The tree on the right is at the end of our house, and out away from it is our drive way, and it goes way down before being on the side road, and then on to the main highway to the post office. lol.... This is why it's hard for me to get to the post office until new snow has melted. It's beautiful, but one of the cons of living in the country where I do. I love it here though. When I grew up I lived in Chicago, but everything was close. lol....We walked everywhere.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Cookie, On page 2 comment #58 by Dee, said she found an embroidery postcard edge for sale on Etsy. (If you have an embroidery machine.
But, if you don't, how about pinking shears or I know they also sell decorative edge Rotory Blades at JoAnns. Or, you could go a different route and maybe hand cut an edge design with just a pair of scissors. It doesn't have to look just like Dee's. I don't have an embroidery machine anymore. So, I'm going to use one of the suggestions I mentioned. I wish I'd kept a pair or two of my scrapbooking scissors. I would have even tried them. But, I got rid of them a long time ago.

JuneBillie, that snow sure looks pristine and pretty. But, I will leave that all to you. I'm very happy here in Florida with no snow. I always hated driving in. It was terrifying to me.

Greetings all, mailed today to Dotty. Should arrive on Tuesday........but I'm thinking she forgot about no mail on Monday. Just a little apology Dotty, I can't draw worth a darn so be prepared for a laugh my drawings are primative at best. That nest with the robins eggs is too cute, and I agree, the edge is really nice too. Thanks for the soothing comments about my friend and her quilt we shared a lot and I so miss her...........calla
