January 2012 Doll Quilt Swap -- Show Us Where You're From
#521
quilt4u, your quilt is adorable. I love the little sailboat embroidery on the edge of the quilt. What a nice touch. This was my first time for a "theme" month. And, I sure had fun with it.

Thank you Scrap4evr, the Southern Belle is really pretty! What's more, her daddy doesn't just own that field, he owns as far as her pretty eyes can see... it's the way the quilting lines converge on a vanishing point - great design.
Judith1005 - (shock horror gasp) Vivian Leigh was as English as they come. She was married to Laurence Olivier for a while. Proper heartthrob.
Sulabug and Cuppy - love the contrast between your quilts, the warm and the cold.
And more lighthouses! Definitely this month's theme within a theme.

WOW all I can say is SUPER WOW!!!!!!!
I received both my doll quilts for January today, and
oh my these ladies out did themselves on these.
To be honest I was feeling pretty "good" about the
dq I made and sent, but after seeing what I these
wonderful ladies made me, well I now feel like mine
was not as up to par as theirs are.
The details are much more than the pictures can
show.
I am NOW on the hunt in my home for the BEST
spot to hang them.
The first one is from "birdlady" in CA. There is embroidery
on the front and the back has the label is in embroidery also.

The second one is from QuilterMomma, in WA. Each block
is machine embroidery and the detail in this picture fails
to do it justice.

Again ladies THANK YOU for the extraordinary
doll quilts that I received from you today.
MANY hugs to you.

Just when you think the swap is over for January, all these incredible quilts come tumbling in. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed seeing each one. They are just so much fun and so well done. Kudos, ladies!
