Hi queenof2802, some people use a nice card stock for the back, some people double up an index card. I imagine you could repurpose the back of an old greeting card. Whatever works best for you.
I use muslin stabilized with a med weight stabilizer. And, then I zig zag the edges. You can finish the edges however you would like to. I write on my card backs with a micron pigma pen.
