I feel your pain. My Bernette serger was about 25 years old and died this spring. Motor shot, no hope of repair.

This week I saw the Christmas stocking swap pictures and was sooooo jealous. I joined the board last year, but have done nothing more than read your posts and look at all the beautiful photos. I would love to be part of this swap, so count me in. I already know which wall hanging I am going to make and I'm excited to get started!

Congratulations to Anna on the new bundle of joy. Grandbabies make it worthwhile to grow older.

I know what ya'll mean about your toys. I never grew up, my toys just got more expensive. My husband is my enabler. I think I'll keep him.

Ube, I enjoyed your nature photos. I think you and I are kindred spirits. I take photos of flowers, bugs, birds, and inanimate objects. I even take pictures of my vegetables. I don't know why because nobody cares but me. My daughter takes photos of the things we cook, so it must be genetic. There are 500 acres of woods across the road from my house. In fact, my house is nestled in the woods and we are in the mountains. I love it! I see a lot of widlife here. Last year white-tailed deer ate all of the corn out of my vegetable garden.

I hope many more join this swap. I'm looking forward to the interesting photos.

    Default Stitcher's Garden

I started a new project in May. It's a Block of the Month being taught at a local quilt shop called Stitcher's Garden. You use lots of the feet on your machine. Some I didn't know I had or didn't know what to do with them. There is appliqué every month and that's what I need lots of practice on.

Here is a picture of the Finished pattern. When we are done we will learn how to put all the blocks together and it will be quilt as you go.

Here are the 3 months I have done so far. It's really fun and I'm using scraps from my stash.

Welcome Sewingsew, we do have a kindred spirit. I love being out side, just watching what happens out there in the big wild world. I have a big window right where my sewing machine is so when I look up from my work, I can snap photos of what's happening outside. I don't have a great talent for photography but a lot of passion for the world around me.

Skaduzy, The quilt pattern you are working on is wonderful, the finished blocks are awesome with lots of techniques. What fun.

Well, news has come about my sick machine and it is good news. Sunshine needs a new electric board. So the mother board is okay, yippee! The good man that checked her out also found that the stitch length adjuster and width adjuster are worn out so he is going to replace those parts too. He did a very good job. She will be back with me in a week.

The damage is approximately $350., which works out to $17.50 per year for 20 years. Not bad for never having a bit of trouble before this.

My old Singer 9015 that my DH bought for me in 1995 is now on my table and I am getting used to her again. She is a very basic no frill machine that gets the work done. I haven't used her in at least ten years. She sounds like a monster but that is her song. Sing away little girl, sing away!

skaduzy, Your squares are so pretty. Thank you Rhonda, JNCT14, and ube quilting for the warm welcome. Glad you were able to get your machine repaired ube. I have several machines, so if one breaks, it not a major problem. Good thing you have your trusty Singer.

So I went out Saturday and purchased fabric for my project. I'll post photos later today or tomorrow.
