2012 Winter/Holidays Pin Cushion Swap-Sign ups close 11/15
 

What speaks winter or the holidays to you?
Big snowflakes, cool starry nights, building a snowman, watching the wildlife, decorating with lights, roasting marshmallows over a fire, a cup of hot chocolate too!
Here is an opportunity to use a new pattern, try a technique you have been meaning to do, or use some of those fun fabrics from your stash!
Let's get creative and share our ideas, pictures, etc.
Holidays theme is not required.

*Limit of one pin cushion per person.

*By signing up, it means that you have read the rules, and agree to follow them! If questions, please ask!

*Please send the hostess a PM to sign up. I need your real name and address, and if you can mail international.

*Partners will be assigned after sign up closes. Sign ups close 11/15/2012.

*Pin cushions MUST be mailed out by 12/1/2012! Delivery Confirmation is MANDATORY!
After your pin cushion is mailed, please also send the hostess a PM with your Delivery Confirmation number!
Also retain your DC slip until your partner has received your pin cushion.

*Please have your pin cushion made before you sign up. We want everyone to get a pin cushion as intended.
If you cannot meet the deadline, perhaps wait until a future swap so you are not rushed.

*Please use quality materials, and the pin cushion be well constructed to withstand lots of use. Those pins can get feisty!! Please, please do your best work!!

*Communication is essential. Do keep in touch with your partner. If something comes up, and you are not able to fulfill your commitment, please let the hostess and your partner know as soon as possible! We want things to work out for everyone.
If you don't communicate, and/or just disappear, you will not be able to participate in any of my future swaps. Negative feedback will also be given. Following through on your commitment will solve this issue.

Soooo, everyone tell us your plans.
i just finished making pretty pins.
A few with crystals and pearls, 1/4" snowmen heads, 11/4" red ornies with white seed bead polka dots and 1/2" christmas trees with glass seedbead ornies. What a pain!!!! They're in the oven now, hope they come out good. Gotta make my kitty Zoey her pearl neclace, promisd her i would.
When i can, will post pic. Having knee replacement surgery on mon. Son is taking his tablet for a few days while im in the hospital.
Trying to make a few great or at least good things to go with this swap.

I really wanted to be in again, but I have so many things to work on for Christmas, and birthdays coming up in December too. The only ones at the moment will have to be after the holidays. Hopefully next time, because I love both the pin cushions and needle books. All of you ladies have fun. I will be peaking.

I sure wish I could make up pincushions in my head. It would sure save me a lot of handsewing.

I'm with you on that, Julie! I could get so much more done if I didn't have to go to work everyday. And then chauffeur DD wherever she needs to go. But, I had so much fun with the first pincushion swap I did, that I'm in for this one! I'll PM when I have mine finished.

OK, I am in on this one, too. Excited to work on holiday items. Doing about half dozen craft faires from now til the first weekend of Dec. Mariposa, I hope you are having a good time and getting that much needed rest and relaxation.

I'm in again, have the ideas for two different ones, so will see which one turns out the best for the swap!
Yeah, will be fun to carry around a pincushion for each of the holidays & seasons, so I guess we'll all have to come up with more ideas! Or we could just use everyone elses & make them our own way!

Ok Lynnie.......my curiosity has the best of me.........when you say "pins" are you talking about "straight pins" like for sewing or pins as in brooches that ladies wear?

**Aloha everybody!! I am back! :) Enjoyed the balmy weather, sun, surf, fabulous food, and lots of activities! Even a tsunami warning!!
Then to learn of the storm on the east coast. My heart goes out to everyone, and many prayers.

On my pins, i made them from loooooooonnnng straiht pins for decos for pin cushions.
Made some new ones tonight for my swap partner in the needlecase swap. Also for my
pc swap. My friend took pics, so im hoping she can post the pics.

Brooches..another great idea to decorate my pc collection.
Cant wait to start valentines day.
Should i make a winter wonderland one (january)??????

Welcome back, Mariposa! You picked a fine place to go to get a break from our weather. Glad you had a good time.

My sis and I went to the hospital to have her bariatric surgery. I'd be surprised if she enjoyed her trip as much as you did yours, but she's doing great. And we are both delighted to be home again.

I am excited about this one!

Made my pincushion today, I'm in! This is so much fun, can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!

Got the pc made of course, and some nice pins, its a holiday swap so i want to add a bit more.
