Old Rosebud, white on white is good I think. Haven't for sure decided but if I go with it, the background is a true white with little tiny floral and leaf print that is red.
Joan I do the same thing, mail it to myself and then post. Always had trouble doing it from my I Phone, but seems like I always can't remember all about this new phone  New technology on an old brain doesn't always work..... Who 'da thought???

I try to have at least six basic blenders to use for each swap. Red, white, black, blue etc.. tone on tones. I HATE using solid colors they just are the hardest for me. But if you buy some blender/tone on tones not even a ton of each of the most requested colors you will be good to go when swap time comes. like 1/2 yrd or 1/3 yard pieces.. just my suggestion of the day.

this will be my third boom swap and I think sending notes are the key. I asked last time for no appliques and only two maybe didnt get the note so overall you can expect a good turn around I think. I love working with all the different fabrics. And I have never ever gotten fabric for so low a price. Even if I hated it I would have been hard pressed to NOT buy it! it was saying pick me pick me!!

I am so excited to see the enthusiasm for the swap :) To those asking questions on what to send: Send what you truly want to have back. Not everyone has every style of fabric (I can honestly say I have very little solids :P) You can put a note in requesting what your vision for the final product is to be and hope that everyone follows. I can honestly say majority of the swappers do try to follow any specific requests made (except for block type as that is not allowed-too restricting).
I am unsure of how to load photos directly with the I products :( I am not a huge fan of any technology honestly..think it makes us use our brains far less than we should lol
I am still taking signups so please remember to join us for all of you folks looking and lurking in the background. We really do have a lot of fun!
Hugs
April

This looks like so much fun. I am so tempted. I see all my favorite quilt buddies signing up and I want to join the fun. Maybe the small fast group would give me my fix without the big group commitment. What is the sign up date dead line, Fat 8 sending dead line and completion dead line?

LOL Annaquilts. Even the small groups can be as slow as the large groups. Well not that they are slow because we have 4 months to make all of them. I was in all 5 groups last time and I loved seeing all the different materials that people sent me and if there was a note I would do what ever the person said. I think I had to go out and buy more white. I generally have a lot of that but I guess being in 5 groups it pretty well depleted my supply. But I love to go shop so it didn't matter. I am like a lot of you here and I really don't have a lot of solid colors but I wouldn't want anyone who is joining to think that they shouldn't ask for a solid. Sending a note telling me what you want if most helpful. Being in five groups last time, I only got one block back that did not do what I asked for so I think that is a very good thing. Maybe some people miss the notes or misplace them or lose them. I can understand that. But it is so exciting to get material and work on a block and then to send them off to their owners. Then the next best thing is seeing your own blocks come back to you.

Many people have requested a different kind of boom block that I will be starting inbetwen April's booms. It will be where you send you choice of material and people make a specific block that you select from quilters cache. Some people where thinking of having quilts made with all the same design so we are going to be trying that one. So for those who finish their blocks early and want to join keep your eyes open for it.

I can't handle the temptation. I'm in for one small. Maybe in the winter I will opt for a large group.

I think i'm going to use the companion to my boom 9 fabric to get a larger quilt. My boom 9 fabric was white with red flowers, this fabric is red with white flowers. We'll see. I may need to go shopping. Man, don't you hate that?

Old_Rosebud-- if we get in the same swap group, we can swap in person. That'll at least guarantee us two well-deserved dates. :)

Also, a round of applause to April, who is hosting even though she's not swapping. You're pretty awesome!

Not everyone deals with holiday fabrics. I know I don't! My game is batiks, solids mostly and abstract designs in fabric.

It certainly can get very expensive getting someone else to quilt our quilts. On the lower end a long arm quilter will charge .02 per square inch and as high as 4.5 to .05 per square inch. Depends on what one has done.
