Hello lindyline, americansewplace, chrys, mary b119, and sew cornie. I'm littlehud your point person. I am so excited to get started. We need a name for our group. Any suggestions? We are all going to have so much fun. Any questions. Just PM or e mail me. :-D :-D :-D

lindyline 08-17-2010 02:24 AM

Hello everyone, I'm Linda, the nosey Australian.
When can we mail centres????
Yes I'm also impatient, and no good at coming up with names.
I'll leave that to all you.

Ok, I forgot to post the centre on this thread, so here it is.
It's going in the mail today, wining its way from cold wet Victoria to hopefully a warmer, drier usa visit.
Have fun ladies.

littlehud 08-17-2010 05:25 PM

Ohhhh....your center is just beautiful. I love that pattern. Can't wait for it to be my time with it.

lindyline 08-18-2010 04:55 AM

OK, so it's npw 111pm, and I'm thinking about names for our group. So much for being hopeless at this stuff.
How about something with everyone's american states initial, and my country initial.
Was thinking maybe A(ustralia)F(lorida)I(owa)C(alifornia)I(owa)O(rego n) ie AFICIO's or Quilting Aficio's??
Just a thought. Now maybe I can sleep.

maryb119 08-18-2010 05:09 AM

I am excited about this too. I have never been in a round robin before and I can't wait to get started. I have my center done and I can't figure out how to transfer a picture from my camera to my computer> Maybe this weekend, my son will have time to help me.

Love your center, lindyline. I have ideas already!!!

lindyline 08-18-2010 01:47 PM

Alright, where is everybody. Seems a bit too quiet on this thread.Where's the pics, where's the noisy banter?Looks like we're going to be the quieter group.
Now ladies, that just won't do. I need talk.

sew cornie 08-18-2010 02:05 PM

I'm here! I'm here! Just waiting for pix to download to post one of my center. That's a beauty you have there Linda. I'll be the last one to get it and it will look SO different by the time it comes to me. Group name? I'll have to think . . . .

americassewplace 08-18-2010 02:29 PM

I'm hear too.
Should be working on my square though. Or sleeping. Was up all night working...
Linda, love yours. I get it first and I think I know what I want to do. Have to wait till I have it in my hands to know for sure.

Here's my center. The picture makes it look a bit too green. It's really more of a softer ocean-blue color. I can't mail it yet . . . still haven't made a label.

littlehud 08-18-2010 05:10 PM

Wow, that is so pretty.

americassewplace 08-18-2010 05:29 PM

Very pretty. I love the colors.

sew cornie 08-18-2010 11:37 PM

I'm glad you like it. It's definitely easier to work on these when you like them. LOL. A couple of name suggestions: Travelling Threads, Border Patrol (ummm, probably not very politically correct), . . . okay, I'm stuck now. There must be some better ideas out there.

lindyline 08-19-2010 12:13 AM

i like travelling threads:

americassewplace 08-19-2010 03:01 AM

I like Traveling Threads also.

lindyline 08-19-2010 03:06 AM

So that's three out of five.Yes we're almost named.

maryb119 08-19-2010 05:09 AM

I like Traveling Threads

littlehud 08-19-2010 06:34 AM

That seems to settle it. Here we are...... Traveling Threads.

sew cornie 08-20-2010 02:04 PM

Oh Mary, I just opened my email picture of your center - woohoo! Knocked my socks off!! I love to work with bold colors and the black you used just makes them pop. Hmmm . . . are you sure you're going to want this one back??? Wowsers, this is going to be a fun one! And it's coming to me first!

maryb119 08-20-2010 02:54 PM

Thanks, sew cornie. I love bright colors too. I saw the star pattern on Quilters Cache and I just had to do it. I ran out of the background fabric for the stars on the 5th block so the other 4 blocks were "Plan B" but I like how it turned out. My grandson has already said it is his.

Do you mind if I ask how old your grandson is? It could help me decide which direction to go in.

I saved your emailed picture on my computer and can post it here if you'd like. And on the IRR 3 Centers thread too, so everyone can drool over it??

lindyline 08-20-2010 10:44 PM

Mary, also opened your email.OMG.Talk about bright. I love it. Agree with jen, we need more info about the DGS.
What are his interests, and how old is he??
I am so looking forward to yours.I love doing bright.Especially with black.Drooling already.
Linda

sew cornie 08-20-2010 11:27 PM

Hey Linda, if you're still on, what time is it there? I'm just curious about the time difference between us. It's just before 12:30am here. I best be getting to bed soon though. I have some blocks to make tomorrow and that doesn't work very well with my eyes closed. Must be awake to sew . . . must be awake to sew . . . must be awake to sew . . . .

lindyline 08-21-2010 12:35 AM

Hi there jen it's currently 6.30 pm 21st Aug.

maryb119 08-21-2010 04:16 AM

Thanks so much. sew cornie, if you can post the picture of my center, I would sure appreciate it. I have not had time to work with my computer program and figure out how to post it but I will keep trying. My grandson is 12. He likes bright colors and stars and astronomy. Hopefully, the designs will be one that "grows" with him. I can't wait to get started!

Chrys 08-21-2010 04:29 AM

Just popping in quick! I'm in this group too....great centers ladies! I've yet to pick out what I'm doing. Yikes! lol. I'm debating whether I do a panel (I have plenty of them) or if I'm going to piece something.

americassewplace 08-21-2010 04:42 AM

I am working on my center today. Hopefully will have a picture posted by tomorrow. I am so excited about this. I need to stay off of this board and get some stuff done.
I need some ideas about a label..... What are you guys putting together? And do we send a Pigma pen with our center are does everyone have one to sign with?

maryb119 08-21-2010 04:47 AM

I have to make my label this weekend, too. I was wondering how big of a label to make. I think we all have a pigma pen to use instead of mailing one along. I agree...I need to spend more time sewing and less time chatting....but it's so much fun! Everyone here speaks "my language".

Thanks for a little insight into your grandson. I know he'll have one stunning quilt when we're finished with it. Here's your fabulous center!

sew cornie 08-21-2010 12:40 PM

Hey Chrys, glad to see you pop in here. Welcome!

I still need to make my label too. I'm thinking it will probably be 12" wide by 12-16" tall? Just a guess so far. I wouldn't mail a pigma pen along. My fear is that it would leak or break or something in transit and ruin all of our lovely work.

americassewplace 08-21-2010 12:46 PM

That is what I was thinking about with the pen. I have never participated in one of these before, so I wanted to make sure... Thanks for the info

maryb119 08-21-2010 02:11 PM

Thank you! thank you! thank you!!! sew cornie for posting my center picture. I sew much better than I run the computer....sewing is more fun unless I'm chatting on this board.

lindyline 08-21-2010 02:26 PM

Yeah, look what happens, I gosleep and everyone else gets chatting.
My label is A4 size, I printed it on computer using a commercial printable fabric. When I get it back, I'll either scan it into computer and add 'traveling threads'to it, or maybe I'll just get our needle and thread and embroider something.
Please feel free to write whatever you want on it,I'll attempt to post a pic of it, but not too sure how it'll go. Then I have to go do something other than read this forum.Housework(yuk) and sewing await.
Linda

No problem. I'm right with you there on the computer thing. This piece of machinery and I just don't seem to speak the same language.

americassewplace 08-21-2010 03:27 PM

Linda, If you will indicate where and what you want to add to your label, I will monogram it for you when I get it. That is what I do for a living. I have 3 industrial size embroidery machines running right now. Bonnie

lindyline 08-21-2010 03:44 PM

Bonnie, thank you so muchfor your offer. I would love
