DOLL QUILT SWAP GUIDELINES

SIZE: from 12”x12” to 24”x24”…any size or shape in between.

MATERIALS: natural fibers/cotton, wool, linen

EMBELLISHMENTS: if you want to use them, feel free…beads, rickrack, buttons, doilies, ribbon, lace…anything or nothing at all.

CONSTRUCTION: Pieced, appliquéd, wholecloth, or yo-yos; quilted by hand or machine; and bound.

LABEL: It is recommended that you attach a label to the back of your quilt. I know, this can be a bit scary for some people though, so it will not be a requirement. A label is however a very nice addition to any handmade quilt. Whether or not you decide to label your quilt, please do include a note with your quilt with your quilting board name, real name and contact information (snail mail address and/or email address, etc. so that they can thank you).

PARTNERS: You will be paired with a partner for this swap. You will make a quilt for your partner and your partner makes one for you. Feel free to discuss color considerations, likes and dislikes, etc. between yourselves. You will also be responsible for securing delivery addresses.

DUE DATE: The deadline for all quilts to be sent is September 30, 2009.

COMMUNICATION: If for any reason you cannot meet the deadline or you need to drop out of this swap, please let me know as soon as you know. If you communicate any setbacks with me I can make sure things work out favorably for your partner, no hard feelings.

SIGN UP: Sign up begins today and ends Monday, August 31, 2009. I’ll assign partners after that date.

If you would like to sign up, send me a PM or reply to this thread. Please let me know if you are willing to send internationally as we have several members outside of the US.

How funny Rachael, i worked on the top of mine last nite. Going way out of my box on this one, but i think it's turning out cute!!

Esqmommy 08-23-2009 09:19 AM

They're fun Pam - I'm anxious to see what you create this time. I love my girl (I call em girls) you sent me! She's so sweet and fit for a doll!

Quilt4u 08-23-2009 09:25 AM

I'm in

Esqmommy 08-23-2009 09:33 AM

Do I have to wash the fabric? I really prefer working with fabric that is not washed, and leave it up to the recipient to wash and get that old fashioned quilted look if they want it. If not, then it will stay unwashed. I didn't see it in the rules, but i KNOW there are preferences around here. Let me know as I'm about to dig into my stash and get working!

amma 08-23-2009 10:33 AM

Considering you posted this while I was sleeping......lol
I did wake up around the time you posted this, had a pain in my arm, just thought it was because of the way I was sleeping. Nope, it was YOU twisting my arm to make me do this swap again! lmao

Chele 08-23-2009 04:28 PM

Sorry, Terri! LOL! I'm going to twist your other arm for getting to travel to Tokyo! Again, I live vicariously through you people. Have fun and give youme a big hug for me.

You can come with if you want! :)

Esqmommy 08-23-2009 08:45 PM

OKay gals/guys - the pressure is ON!! I am about 3/4 of the way done with my quilt. I spent the entire day working on it. Took a few breaks, nap, dinner, trip to the petstore with my daughter and a treat of a frozen yogurt. I've got about 1/2 of it to finish quilting, the binding, and I'm done!! I LOVE this swap, let me tell you. I put off doing my DJ Xmas Squares...I was getting frustrated, so this is a nice distraction!!

Okay, so, who's my partner????
