Rhonda, Does each swapper choose a block to send to her partner or do we say which block we want? The reason I ask is because some may have lots of your blocks and be collecting different ones, rather than getting repeats. Of course, for me, I don't have the first one, so I'd enjoy any block!! Just went through some of your tutes and looks like fun. I can't make a star block without the 30 degree angle block or would any ruler with that marking work fine? nancy.

When you get your partner you can discuss with her what she would like and you can discuss colors likes and dislikes etc.

As for the 30 degree you can use any 30 degree ruler. I also have a paper template version I created that bypasses the 30 degree and it also saves abit on fabric. I still prefer the original 30 degree method but I had people saying they didn't like having so much left overs. I reuse my left overs but I guess not everyone does.

Oh, you are totally forgiven for being late with mine, if you also forgive me for getting a nasty cold and not mailing yours out yet. I just can't find the energy to drag myself to the post office. It's been done for a week and a half now.

I guess I will post the block i sent to TwinRiverFarms! I know she has received it(and thanked me!) and I have a photo of it, so here it is. It is my first ever block with Rhonda's method. I enjoyed it and will keep going this coming month. The block is a combo block~Steps around the Block!

Rhonda 09-27-2012 09:10 AM

Great Sulabug! Can't wait to see it!

Rhonda 09-27-2012 09:15 AM

Wow Jill your patterns and colors are so great! I love that you did great on the contrast. That can make or break a quilt block. Good contrast and it looks great! Not enough contrast and the quilt block runs together.

I'm glad you enjoyed the process too! I know your partner will love it!

jillnjo 09-27-2012 12:34 PM

Thanks! I am looking at your choices of blocks to choose another one to put together!!

SulaBug 10-02-2012 12:10 PM

I mailed my block out to my partner nuttyhuricane today & received a note from her that she mailed mine too!! :D It won't be long now & I can post a picture of my new block.

Here is the block TwinRiver sent me. I ask for one with grey and yellow in it as I am collecting blocks for a quilt in those colors. It will work well. Thank you, Miriam.

Thank you so much NuttyHuricane, for the beautiful block that you made for me for the September swap. It is beautiful & I love it a lot. Also thank you for the extra block you made & sent too. The black background just makes it stand out so nicely. Here are pictures of the two blocks that she has sent to me.

sgardner 10-04-2012 05:15 PM

Both are beautiful! Can't take my eyes off the black one. Just gorgeous!

Rhonda 10-04-2012 06:54 PM

Everyone has just done a wonderful job on using contrast in your fabrics. The quilt blocks are just wonderful.

I started this swap to encourage people to try my methods and I am so pleased you all seem to enjoy them.

Nuttyhurricane What did you think about making the wings blocks? That particular quilt block is one of my favorites! I love the illusion of curves.

jillnjo 10-05-2012 05:05 AM

Gorgeous blocks you recieved, Sulabug!!
