Krystyna, all I can say is Thank you so much!! I'm sure I shouldn't say this but really am so tired of grown women not following the rules and it seems they just do what they want to....send if they want or don't, don't care about the send date either. Thank you for putting your foot down on this. I've had so many tell me they have quit all the swaps because the rules weren't enforced. I think it's only fair to those that do follow the rules. So again from me to you Thank You Very Much!!

Cogito 06-22-2013 06:05 AM

I agree Jaba! Thank you Krystyna. It is hard but the right thing to do. Those who comply with the rules all thank you. Those who do not...well who cares if they get miffed, they are being disrespectful to the entire group!

I just want to make an important announcement --

Gaiatender's disappearing May partner was NOT Createfourpaws!

Createfourpaws actually sent her a wonderful little quilt and there are photos of it here.

I am sorry if I led anyone to thinking it was her.

Cogito and Jaba, I really do not like doing that at all. The first time I left a negative was quite a while ago and I waited a YEAR for the person to come through. Since then it has been rare, but seeing what happens with increasing frequency on other swaps and not so often here, I decided that it had to be done. I just wish that other hostesses would do the same otherwise it will continue. In the case of the DQ swap, I know that everyone here puts in so much thought and care and time and talent into their creations. When they do not get a quilt in return it just isn't fair. So, sorry for the negative chit chat on this topic, but sometimes you just have to address it head on.
OK. That topic is done, done, done.

I think there is a little confusion and I wouldn't want any misunderstandings. This is my third month participating on this board and I love it. The ONLY or most frustrating complaint I have is my (note, I said "my") inability to post pictures of the quilts I was sent. The three months include: 1) April for May - 2) May for June, partner CreatefourPaws Crazy Quilt, 3) June for July, partner Ljdugas31, Red, White & Blue Although I sent the first quilt for my partner, she had emergencies and was not able to return the favor. For the second quilt, really the first I received...I posted when I got the quilt. I also said I was unable to post pictures so my partner did it for me. Many people corresponded with her asking where she got her adornments and giving her compliments. A couple of days ago I received my third (red, white and blue) which I also acknowledged on this board. Our leader has been working with me to help me post my pictures. Apparently they are too big. I told her I did not receive the first quilt. I guess there was also someone else who didn't received theirs. A couple of you lovely ladies requested my address so you could make a quilt. Please...don't. Although it is one of the nicest gestures...I want to continue as I have. Learning so much about my skills (or lack of), plus getting so many ideas from you all. I received a PM I don't understand so I thought I'd try to clarify by restating what I have already said. Thank you for being you are. Have a lovely weekend. Thank you for sharing and teaching me. Donna (gaiatender).

Misunderstandings have been cleared up. This was just a big cluster that I jumped to the wrong conclusion.

Will not happen again. Sorry for any of this to have happened.

Everyone is happy and your disappearing partner (who was NOT Cindy) may have been sick but she joined in and completed some other swaps very recently so ... that's that.
Cindy has your address and I'll get it out of her!
OK. Done with this topic. Moving right along ...

Hey I was curious...maybe this is an old topic of discussion. I was wondering how you all display your doll quilts? I was thinking of putting up a small clothes line on wall and attaching them with clothespins but I am open to any and all ideas.

Krystyna 06-22-2013 07:28 PM

What a great idea! When I had my house, I had a few on the walls of the stairway and a couple hanging in the living room. I had worked out a system of dowels and fishing line to hang some over the brick facade of the fireplace. When (resisting "if") we rebuild, I would love to have high cathedral ceilings with beams from which I can suspend them. Right now they are all in a giant bin.

Has anyone posted pictures of the doll quilts? I want to make one for an American girl doll that will be given to a 4 year old on her birthday. A hand me down from her Aunt that's 13 now. She'll probably make it.
