This is a new thread (and I hope I'm putting it in the right spot) for those in the October Secret Pal Swap who want to create a block for the swap's friend Marty who is very ill right now.

Here's what we have agreed on so far. We will do a version of the quilt as you go quilt.
Each person will make a 12" block quilted onto a 14" square background that has green tones in it.
Any design is just fine, but Lori tells us that Marty loves hummingbirds and flowers, so if you want to incorporate that into the design, that's fine.
All finished blocks should be sent to Lori by October 26th. That gives us three weeks to do a block.
Please PM Lori for her address.
You may sign the block on the front or the back - your choice.
Please sign in here so we know how many are participating.
Thanks!

I will do a block - I have some beautiful green batiks in the closet that will be perfect. I'll get it done after work this evening.

will somebody post a picture with measurements shown once they are done with a square?

I'm a visual person.

As far as the batting goes, is there a specific type?

Kris
