Elisabrat, what if you put a border around each block or pick a color from your blocks and add rick rack diagonally across the finished top to make it look like borders on each block.

Linda I like your blocks really well. they have alot of variety and color and look well sewn. I would use a light to medium green as you don't have much of that and a light green would give you contrast.

Love the controlled scrappy too! I saw this idea for disappearing 9 patch floral quilts. (kindof fun)

This sounds like so much fun! Thank You for starting this thread. It is very nice to sit down and do "quick" projects, or "no pressure" quilts. So many great ideas, Lets do it! lol

I just found this post today. Don't know how I missed it. I love scrap quilts and save almost any size scrap and try to keep them separated by color or theme. I just saw this quilt in an Australian Patchwork and Quilting magazine and think it will be my next scrap quilt. I really like yellow so I'm pretty sure the yellow will be my background color, and then just pull scraps randomly to make the half circles. Have really enjoyed reading everyone's comments. Ssnare, I'm going to have to look for that magazine. I have a LOT of 2" blocks sewn together. Maybe they would work.

Elisabrat, I'd use black and white as your 2 other colors because A. you don't like the mixed up colors, B. black and white will "match" anything and are already present in each block, and C. Depending on how the mystery goes, it might well calm the quilt down for you or distract you from the mix of other colors. Good luck with it and have fun.

I prefer controlled scrappy myself. My one attempt at uncontrolled scrappy made a swift shift to controlled and now it's on my bed I think I've posted pictures of it before, and at least this link, but here it is again if you want to see it.....http://www.flickr.com/photos/5800297...7626558897887/

Another idea for a future swap......swapping scraps by color. Swappers could pair up based on what each one wants to receive. Sometimes I just don't have enough of one color to complete a controlled scrappy project.

The scrap quilts I have done are all in bright colors. I guess that is also called controlled scrappy.
