[QUOTE=QuilterMomma;5239790]Wow Whigrose, I am special then if the DH says it is wonderful...]

Came home for a brief break from house/pet sitting to recharge and take a much needed nap. Walked into my sewing room and there in all her glory is QuilterMomma's quilt spread out on my work table (thank you dh).

I called the LA to thank her the fabulous job she did on the top. She thinks I should enter it into the Maine Quilt Show in July (too late). She said it received tons of compliments - even without the quilting :-) She asked permission to add the photo she took of it to put on her website.

I did take a couple of photos in its current state. Off to make the bias binding, maybe do a few more puzzles on the porch listening to the wild birds and our ladies (hens), and maybe enjoy a little liquid refreshment. A toast, shall we say to the newlyweds who are in Mexico enjoying themselves tremendously but missing their dogs.

Your call on the photo QM.

best,
d

It is not to late to enter it in the Washington State Quilters show in October, I can under your name and the longarmer. Also, can do the same for the Wyoming show. I have no problem doing that for you. Like I said, will be hanging on my wall in a spot that I will get to see it everyday several times. I am so thrilled that it is so wonderful. So glad I am going thru the extra trouble for yours since I am receiving such a beautiful quilt myself. i am tempted to have the photo, but the awe of it coming as a surprise is there as well. I will think on this one. You may post a spoiler for all to see if you like and then I will peek if I really can't stand the temptation anymore. So glad you are enjoying the beautiful sounds of the outdoors.

Anna, it's not at all "pidly"-- you *have* been left out, and it must feel really crummy. (I'd use a different word, but I think this is a "G" rated crowd...;-) I *think* you're the only one in this situation.

I've just written to someone who -- at the very beginning of the swap -- offered to be a "backup"-- should we have anyone in the situation you are in. I'm waiting to hear back from her.

And if she is no longer available, we WILL find you an alternative partner. Folks, this is what AnnaQuilts initially said she wanted when she signed up for the swap; do any of you have a UFO that fits this description that is just screaming to be finished and sent to Anna? ;-)

Love to receive: Traditional, Pieced or Appliqué or both; I love planned scrappy
Fabric styles she likes: Prints, Civil War, Hawaiian style [not sure what that last means]
Colors she likes: Reds; Yellows/Oranges; Blues are very nice; Greens; Other: Not pink
Lots of colors is good.
I tend to make "wilder" quilts but really admire traditional and hand
quilting. If that is your thing I would love to have a quilt in that
style. I would have a preference for 60x60 size. Please do make
something you enjoy making and is representative of you.

I need to still quilt the top but the quilt is sandwiched and I picked out some quilting designs.

I have some UFOs that fit in the arena. I know, I am making two more right now that are at the last tail to be done, just the longarm quilting. One has the border I decided to do to finish then ready for quilting. I have a pine burr that I am doing in a lavendar pieced, a strip scrappy, I would not get the applique in this time unless put some on a border, I have a civil war churn dash (kansas Troubles) if would like, I have a Delectible Mountain in assorted color blocks, I have a red white and black robbing petper pay paul pattern, then there are more, I would have to look. These are at the top of my head. I could always just assemble all my Buggy Barn scraps to make a "planned scrappy" for her. let me know.

Sounds like quiltermomma has it covered, but as a second back up, I am working on a red/yellow/blue quilt that is a but on the wild side--planned scrappy. The only draw back is that has a couple more masculine fabrics containing gears and tires. I am working on attaching the label of jengaile's quilt and waiting for the binding to arrive.

Annaquilts - ((((hugs))). Hang in there.

Regarding Annaquilts situation - another option would be for several willing members to collaborate on a pattern and colorway and each make a block or two. When done, we could send to a member who quilts for the quilting part of it. We could split and cost between us for the batting and backing, plus shipping.

Or, I'd be very happy to make a top for Anna if another member would be willing to complete it and ship it to her.

Just a thought. We'll leave no quilter in the cold :-)

best,
d

QuilterMomma,
I would LOVE to see your civil war Churn Dash quilt. That is one my To-Do list and soon.

I like your idea of no quilter left behind whigrose.

All I have left on that one is to sew the blocks together with the sashing. I messed up once and cut my sashing wrong so got my leaf quilt done ( on the longarm right now will show next week). I love how it looks, such warm colors it draws you in. It needs a home so I can finish it. I have this mound of quilts stacking up behind my loveseat in a corner. hey, can check those out to see if there is something in there she might like and it is done.

That would be really sweet if I could still be matched up. Any of these sound wonderful except the red/white and black

quote Quiltermomma" I have a pine burr that I am doing in a lavendar pieced, a strip scrappy, I would not get the applique in this time unless put some on a border, I have a civil war churn dash (kansas Troubles) if would like, I have a Delectible Mountain in assorted color blocks, then there are more, I would have to look. I just worry if she would like the style quilt I made. I am also wondering what happened to the person I was matched with and hope she is well. I had good communication in the beginning and then suddenly it dropped off. I don't mind taking some more time so I can get to know my new partner and she/he would have time to make another quilt.
