This uses a size of paper template that works best for a 3 1/2" acrylic template so I redid the size of the PTs for a 2 1/2" so there wouldn't be so much left over

I would like to sign up for your December Block swap. I do have a problem. The examples shown look like whole quilts not just blocks. Am I correct, are they whole quilts. I still have a day or 2 left if I can get a clear explanation. Example: For Drunkard's Patch, do I just make one 12.5 inch block of may I make more than one in a design to measure 12.5 inches. Thank you for your patience.

This swap is for learning to make my shortcut Blocks and using them to make my designs. So you will make one quilt block and exchange it with a partner I assign. You can choose any quilt block I have designed or used in a tutorial or one of my ebooks or patterns. so go back and look at the list in the first post to see where to find quilt blocks.

I have shortcut methods that make a unit easy to make. I call these units "Blocks" I have Boston Blocks Star Point Blocks Kansas Dugout Blocks etc.

Then after you make these units you sew them together to make a 12 1/2" quilt block.

This is a Boston block

You will make as many of them as you need to make the quilt block you choose to make. I also have some designs that use Half Square Triangles that some beginners like to start with because it is more familiar. But you can use any of my "Blocks"

In most of my tutorials I show you the finished quilt block( computer version )

Here is a thread that shows all of my HST blocks in the first Sampler Quilt I did last year. I posted 3 quilt blocks per week. http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...s-t146794.html

This is one quilt block -

Quilt Block Layout

in the layout you can see what colors you need to use and where to put the colors. You can also see how to turn the blocks. Once you make the "Blocks" then all you have to do is sew them together. If you change the values of the colors your quilt block won't look the same as mine.

Rettie V. Grama and redcalif, join us, there are so many of Rhonda's block to choose from, and the way she makes her blocks are really very easy. I've learned so much with her tutorials, swaps, and samplers, that just about everything I do is her way. And with the swap, we get to share with others, we learn something and it isn't making an entire quilt so it doesn't take as long to make. So please do join us.

You just need to tell me here that you would like to sign up and I will add your name to the list. On Nov 30 I will post the partner list here on this thread.

As for the what and where just take a look at the reply I posted where I show the block and layout. If you still have any questions just let me know!

If you haven't already requested you will need to let me know fi you need the templates. You will need a 2 1/2" template to make the 12 1/2" quilt block.
