Yeah, just got confirmation that I am in!!!!! Now to decide on my center block. Love paperpiecing, will start there.

Now, a little about me:

I am a registered nurse, working as a Nurse Director over an Orthopeadic Med/Surg unit. I love being a nurse....could not imagine doing anything else. I am married 16 yrs to a wonderful man that I picked up in a Wal-Mart store in Paris, Tx. He is also an RN, working as a case manager for a Children Hosp. We have 3 beautiful children and you will probably get sick of my bragging about them....I am a proud and predjudice mother. I learned to sew at a very young age from both of my grandmothers, including quilting and am almost exclusively a quilter. I make quilts for local charities. Am not currently part of a guild....not able to fit in my very busy schedule. Therefore, I consider our online community my guild. That's enough for now!

Me too, this is where I go to get my quilting fix. That and to Jaba's house I appreciate the heads up on the block oldcatlady! thanks!! wow your good, how did you remember which block you sent?

I need to do a round on another round robin today so it can go in Mondays mail. I love my fabrics I chose to go with it just on the fence on what pattern to do. the round before was a solid border so no solid border for this one.. decisions decisions decisions. Glad you got in Alikat!

Sorry, excuse my "newness" to the group....so do we send fabric with our center? Or as the person adding borders, do we get to choose from our own stash?
thanks, Cogito

We each make our own center block - can be up to 12" x 18" or can be 12" x 12" if you prefer. This is not the same as a boom so except for the center block, you don't send any other fabric. As you mail it forward, each person in your group will add a border. Check the first page for rules, details, etc. Hope that helps - -

When this thread started, our group had 6 people. So the centers were 12 1/2" to 18 1/2". Because more people have requested to be in a group, we are having 5 in a group. So now the centers may be from 12 1/2"- 24 1/2".

Thanks Jane, I did read all of the rules but that particular issue was not clear to me so I appreciate the clarification.

I thought it was originally smaller phew I wanted to do a 24.5 block but 18 would have been ok just extra rounds when it got home. My son in law to be lol is over 6' tall so he needs a longer quilt for curling up with. My girl is so easy! she is 5'3 so short is not an issue. I have already made her three however so share the wealth time I suppose. She says he steals it when they are on the couch. NOT my babies quilt!!!

The reason for the choice in the size of our centers - 12x12 to 12x18 is because several of us - me included - would prefer a rectangular quilt rather than a square quilt.
