Oh boy, have I been having fun!

Dh has been working at the big local fair with his American Legion Post for the past three days. They do the chicken bbq for the fairgoers; it is their biggest fundraiser of the year. And I have been thoroughly enjoying my alone time.

I have so many ideas running around my head for my RxR so thought I'd just start playing with scissors. Not sure if I'll use any or all of these machines. Still haven't quite figured out how I want my row to end up looking like - I love flying geese so I'm certain there will be some of those in there somewhere. And maybe an oil can since I have to oil everyone of these babies before I can use them.

Oh, if you don't know antique machines, in order from L to R is a Davis VF, early Singer and a Willcox and Gibbs. And yes, I do have the good fortune to own each of these ( plus several other very old gals).

Thinking about putting the company names above or near each machine - maybe even using the Willcox & Gibbs to stitch them?

I know I'm early, bit of an overachiever, but just couldn't let this time go to waste, right? Right.

None of these are stitched down yet, just had fun cutting out pieces.

best,
d

Holy smokes girl, you are cooking over there. I just love these. I had to run to LQS to get the back for a quilt so i can finish it this month, have to draw out pinecone panto real quick, and saw some fun fabric that would go great in your quilt. see, there is hope for your group yet. Now that you are getting the foundation part of your quilt down, we can add thread, needles, yarn balls, pin cushions, mini quilts, scissors, rippers, etc.

Still thinking on my theme, can't decide. have not taken time to evaluate the UFO yet either. I am hoping by this weekend I can decide. I do have some wonderful jungle/african fabric in a stash/UFO pile that I could use because I do have some blocks started from it and make for my daughter who is in college and it will e done by the time she graduates next year. Or could do a monkey themed one for the other daughter who is going to college. The youngest is done for a bit so no thinking on any for her. Just finished up one and the second one is in the works. Oh decisions.

buslady,
I think a transportation theme would be great! Imagine- unicycles, old bicycles with the big wheels, wagons, motorcycles, muscle cars, buses, shetland ponies (okay, jk about the ponies), trains, airplanes, I could go on and on.

But a lake theme, don't even get me started. Lots of ideas there.

best,
d

QUOTE=buslady;5476792]Wow, I am soo glad to see some pictures of this. It is not what I had in mind, but I LOVE IT!!! I am thinking of either doing a "transportation" theme, since I have been in the transportation industry for Many years and I could actually hang it at our office for everyone to enjoy. I worry that might be a difficult theme for others, what do you think?
OR, since I just moved to a lakeside community, I thought it might be nice todo a "lake" theme. Sand, beaches, seagulls, umbrellas, shells, rocks, waves, the list goes on!!!
I am really excited to make my final decision on a theme, and it sure has helped seeing the samples!!!! Let the games begin. LOL[/QUOTE]

You gals are SO CREATIVE!!! I can't believe some of the ideas ya'll are coming up with.
I still can't decide for sure....LOL! I know I need one for our new travel trailer so that's
probably what I will do. It's color scheme is browns and golds.

Default Modern Quilt Starter - sneak peek..I love how my row came out!

HI All,

My pic did not come out very clear using the cell phone, but here is my modern quilt row. The colors are green, gray, black and white. I am looking forward to getting it out there!

Love the modern flare! Have started using more modern fabric and designs even paper piecing. May have to go modern my self having trouble I have some fabrics and just did not know how to incorpate them into traditional type blocks. I was wanting to use pink and browns but may have to change open to ideas

I think my row may be done. I need to look at it for a few days and see if I still like it, but this may be it.
