Had to think about that a moment QuilterMom but you are right. If you started out with an 18" or 24" square the last couple of people would be expending a lot for 3 1/2" - 6 1/2" borders toward the end. I do think the 2" border would probably be more appropriate for a 12" center.

Gave it a lot of thought and, really, I'd be just fine starting with a square instead of a rectangle for the following reasons:

1. My main purpose in joining is because I enjoy working with a group

2. Wanted more experience working with borders and I enjoy creativity

3. Don't have enough empty wall space for a really large quilt

.............will do whatever pleases others.

Jane, your blocks are finished! I'm putting a 30's quilt on my to-do list for sure.
Do you want to see a picture?
Are you ready for me to mail next week?

Yes Yvonne. I finished Mary's row and I need to take a picture. It seems that each row I work on , I want to keep the top. You all are so talented. I love our little group. Hugs and happy 4th of July to you all.
