Oh wow!!!!!! That is special. You decide when you get them. I did cotton but have not added any embelishments yet. I don't own any such precious fabrics anymore. I got rid of it all because I never used them. I can say, depending on what wandalou did, it may be the one row with the special touch.

Mmsewnso's theme is:

Scrapper, my dear, since I've stuck with my idea to do a flying carpet of blocks, i.e. places I've been or want to visit, you can get a head start on your blocks to add to my row if you want.

I'm thinking about my row consisting of blocks representing places I've lived (my father and ex were both in the Navy, so I've traveled --- a LOT!) Then have everyone add blocks representing where they have lived or visited or dreamed of going to see - so when it's done, it'll represent a lot of different places ... and sending a journal along with the blocks so that everyone can tell me the names of the blocks they chose and what they represent. I think it would be like a flying carpet of sorts. And since I want to sash it when I get all the rows back, I'd ask everyone to baste their blocks together and also baste to the previous row, so nothing gets lost but I can easily finish it without overworking Jack the Ripper - I think my sashing will be based on what everyone does, I'm not ready to commit to a color yet, I want everyone to let their imagination fly on this one.

So how we doing here? I fell off the deep end since surgery, but finally getting about again and my brother's wedding is over so that is out of the way. Has everyone received their rows? I know some of us are working ahead, which is great, but wanting to be sure that they are moving along as said would be. I have not seen any posts as such.

This is the message I received from Mdmsewnsew on April 3. Not sure what has happened.

"I have the rows ready to send....all of which means that even though the rows have been done for almost two weeks, I haven't been able to get to the PO - but ... I will let you all know when they go out. BTW, I did see the message about doing an extra row, so I am including two "shelves" for Wanda Lou's bookcase quilt. Sorry I have been such a bottleneck, work, health issues etc. have been a challenge but I haven't abandoned the group. Hugs and apologies."

I have sent her a message again, hopefully she can get them mailed and on to you Scrapper.
I know I am working on your extra row on paper at the moment. This is fun.

Go ahead and mail to me. That way Mdmsewnsew will get a chance to catch up. Then I can mail to her for the last row to it and then she can mail to Scrapper. seeing how I am without a row anyway. Did you have some photos to peek at?

Change of plans Wanda, you can mail onto Mdmsewnso. She is ready for the next row. As for my extra row, to save on postage, you could send to Mdm and then she can send on to me when she finishes Scrappers because I need to do the last row of the seasons. Scrapper, you should be receiving rows from Mdmsewnso. She had a mixup in directions with someone to help her mail, but they are on their way to you. Should be there Wednesday no later than Thursday. Wow, we are coming to an end ladies. Getting exciting to see our beautiful works of art. I have a draft for Wanda's row so as soon as I see the whole thing, I will be able to get it done by the deadline. Thank you ladies for staying in touch. Communication is so important when doing a project like this.

Message from Mdmsewnso:

I sent three sets of rows to Scrapper - yours (the crazy quilt blocks, right?), three shelves for Wanda Lou (her original row and two rows that I made for her) and my blocks with a letter asking that instead of Scrapper making a whole extra row, that everyone make just one extra block, which will make it 24 bocks coming home (including the 6 I sent out). since I'm going to call it my 'magic carpet' quilt, with everyone doing blocks representing places they've been, or want to visit - I will play with the arrangement once I get them home and make the sashing based on how the blocks work together. I want it to 'talk' to me, and don't want to restrict anyone in any way, let their imagination fly. I am looking forward to getting Scrapper's rows to work on. I wish my camera hadn't crapped out on me, am looking for a new one, think I've narrowed it down, just have to get out to the store to get it. I really appreciate everyone being so ultra patient. I just hope you all think they are worth the wait!
