I agree, no pressure for anyone. If the rows are done early, if all agree, we can mail them early, otherwise we stick to the deadlines.

Questions for the group:
  1. Would the group have any objections if I request my rows be significantly smaller than 12.5 x 60.5? Each wall in my studio, with the exception of one, is already dedicated. The available wall is exposed to bright sunlight thus making it unacceptable for a place to hang any sort of fabric; plus, it is around a corner in an alcove where whatever hangs there would never be seen. And we can;t have that, can we? ;-)
  2. I cut out appliques of three of my antique machines. Originally I had thought to use each of them in my starter row. Now I am wondering if they should be spread around the quilt top. Would two of you be willing to work one of them into your row you do for me? No worries if there is no interest in doing that, I will work them in. It was just a thought I had.

Whisper - I may just ditch the whole theme and go with something else.

best,
d

They are so pretty girl. As stated, put it in the note of what you are working toward, include it into the box for mailing and I believe we can make adjustments for it. I know I can. If you say I want this in row 3, then that person would add it, and row 5 so they are spread evenly around, then we can do that. This way we are getting a great end result as we want. Also, I believe you said you were not fond of machine embroidery? Be sure that is on your list so I do not do all the wonderful antique sewing machines I have on my embroidery designs, and put them in your quilt when you don't want them. (LOL)

I LOVE YOUR APPLIQUES!!!!!!!!!! Great job on designing them. Wow, I personally know how awesome your work is from the quilt I have hanging on the wall that I enjoy every day which next year will go in a couple of quilt shows in your honor of course.

I'd gladly work one of your pretty babies in. Just send one if you'd like. Also whatever size you need /want on my behalf. I'll adjust. I don't do smaller then 3 1/2 at this point though but I love 3 1/2 and 6 1/2 blocks especially for paper piecing.

My theme will probably just a modern, I am in 2 groups and so far they are modern themed
  • Sashing - My preference is to join my rows when they come home to me. As for others, I have no objections if you want to include sashing for your rows to be joined as the top grows.
I agree, I would like the option to join the rows when they come home so I can setup the order.

I already have my rows ready to go, I do like some direction from the owner but not too picky please! I want to have fun and not be too pressured to have it perfect or with tight directions. I am looking foward to stretching myself by working on other rows!

Question - Do we want to poll the Group 7 members to see if we can send our rows early, or should we stick to the deadlines?

Update on each theme and sashing issue:
Annaquilts: Country Village Square, no sashing and no joining rows
Whigrose: Sewing room, no sashing and no joining rows with variable sizes on rows possible
Babeyruth: My Sewing Room, no sashing and no joining rows
Peggiszo: Lets go to the Beach, _________
QuilterMomma: Safari/Jungle, sashing and can join rows.

Now it seems I am the only one with sashing and joining rows, I can do it when I get it, but was cheating the process because assembly seems to be my slow point on things so thought I could pass the buck a little. But if you wish to not, that is fine as well.

Also, please include a LABEL with your quilt package. That would be great for all of us to sign it as we finish each row. Now that may seem silly when the rows won't be joined, but could always label the dates of mailing or something like that. You decide on your label. Thought was a great idea.

Mailing will happen when we are all ready to send on and no later than deadlines. since I have not even started mine, I am already behind. No pressure for anyone. When my canning and garden work are done, will have a bit more time to work on this. I have it on my list of to dos for October. Customer quilts first.

I love all the themes and will gladly sew rows together and add sashing for you Beth. Anyone make labels and want to make me one for this swap and trade me for something for it? My labels are just a piece of fabric, often a heart, that I write on and then set with an iron.

I can do an embroidery label for you if you want. I will snap shot it and then post so you can see. Give me a few though. So excited about this, but have to be patient to wait because I really need to stick to my plan for the rest of September to accomplish what needs done first. After I am done sewing on bindings, I can put the embroidery machine on and then do that while hand stitching or longarming. Yep, us women on the multitask thing.

If anyone else or all of you want me to do the labels, we can decide together and I can stitch them all up at once and mail them out. Just let me know. That is for Lucky 7 group or the Hevenly Seven and I would add Stars (barring no other name offered). Which name would you ladies like?

Well if you are sure. I know you are busy. No rush. We have plenty of time. Let me know what I can trade with. I like the Heavenly Seven or lucky Seven, either way.

Oh girl, no trade, my treat. I think what I may do is put down the date, the person who is to do that row by then their name and do a line so you may sign it that way.
