Working away, ah, er, um, scratch that, playing with fabric. Just stitched forty miles of flying geese together that I might use in my row. Next up - see if I can't find a couple or three blocks to piece together. I really have no idea where this row is going in terms of compostition. Just flying by the seat of my pants and fabrics that appeal to me.

QM- you know I won't have any issues at all playing with sashing for you. So, send the puppies along and enough about it ;-)

Anna, have you started your row yet? Any pics?

Maybe I'll take a couple of pics tomorrow just to show what's been happening here. And feedback is appreciated.

best,
d

hey Whigrose, while cleaning up the office, my mind went wandering and you could do a machine applique with the machine stitching up a block or a crazy quilt or something like that. Or I can add that to your quilt when it comes around. Thought that sounded cool. Now there are spool blocks and you could add lines of colored theread around it, or use blank sashing between your blocks and applique little wooden spools of thread around and hand embroidery pins and needles as well. just the outlining stitches, Not sure where you were going with yours, but those would be nice.
Maybe Babeyruth would like some of those ideas as well, she is doing her sewing room theme as well.

Back to cleaning office. Got tired of paperwork now for some physical.

Too funny. Yesterday I actually pulled a couple pieces of fabric out with the idea of a mini quilt being 'stitched' on one of the applique machines.

Great minds....

No nothing happenng here yet. I have too many ideas and then I can't lock in. I am putting it aside for a moment and focussing on a CW side swap I am doing.

Also remember that puppy some one was going to send me but I never got? Well I found one myself, a 4 1/2 lb 6 month old little girl. She is settling in an learning how to run my household.

Pictures won't post right now but here is a link to a post on the board with pictures of Nina. Scroll down about mid way.

Under Nina's pictures is also a picture of my quilt buddies that use the treadle machines at the house.

I am trying to decide between applique and piecing. I do have the fabrics standing out and a stack of possible ideas/patterns. I want to get this going soon.

Since I know you love to paper piece, wouldn't that be a starting place and then you can add on sky and lawn then do the applique as well? Just a thought if that helps for ideas.

Annaquilts,
Why do you have to decide between the two techniques? Can't you do both, or don't you like blending them?

I am actually considering adding some applique (sewing-related items) to my pieced blocks. I am totally struggling with 'What am I going to do with my row?". I keep seeing pieced blocks I like but I'm one of those that second, third and sixteen times guesses myself. There are just so many possiblities, right? Right! :-)

best,
d
