Secret Santa Sign-ups 2016
#1022
My favorite Christmas memory was when my 36 year old was almost 2. We were living in a truck at the time. Things went a little better and we ended up in a motel in a po-dunk town with nothing at all. I found some construction paper and my babygirl and I taped pieces together and built a Christmas tree on the wall. My baby got blocks, I got an art book to learn to draw and her dad got a fishing reel. We went to the frozen creek and he caught 3 fishes....Christmas dinner. We were so truly blessed....each need was met and a gift each! Simplicity and Love.

Judy: the spirit of Christmas was, and is, alive and well with you. You had everything you needed. A roof over your head, food in your belly, and the love of your family surrounding you. What else does anyone need?
I am very certain those memories are warm ones.
Thank you for sharing. It reminds us to forget our insignificant 'issues' with the holiday or life in general and be thankful for what we have.

what great stories. My worst christmas was when I was three, I caught my tights on the wheel of my brothers pram and I hit the side of the little wooden piano that Santa had left me. I split my lip open. My dad managed to get in touch with a doctor about three miles away, he drove me to the doctors house and said he watched in horror as the doctor stitched my two lips together without any anesthetic and just left a small hole that I could drink through a straw and then the doctor gave me an apple for being such a good girl. My dad made my mum do christmas dinner two weeks later when I was able to eat properly without any stitches so that I wouldn't feel like I missed out.
