Default 2 handed potholders

How did I ever cook without them?! I made this set for DD's future MIL.
Can't wait to make some for holiday bakers with cookie fabric! Try some, not hard.
Mine have Insulbrite inside. Pattern from "Crafty Gemini".

Dotty beautiful pansies love the purple. Those look really handy besides being pretty.

Here's a quick peek. I finished them early as lots of appointments coming up in the next couple weeks. I should have picked a spot that had better sewing. My eyes just aren't that good anymore.

So I haven't made a two-handed hotpad before and thought I'd practice. Needed a hostess gift anyway since I am flying north to spend a few days with one of my quilty friends. Here is what I made her combining ideas from a couple of tutorials. Bought a high quality used black bath towel at a yard sale ($1) and cut it to use as part of padding. Happy with this one...we'll see what I think of for my partner next month!

Forgot to ask how long are you making the double pot holders and how wide? Is there a certain measurement or a are you just playing it by ear?
