Kathy
Krystyna you are seriously a brave brave person! I hope all your Angels keep you and your family safe.
Now, I am going to say this has been my favorite month, I absolutely love Halloween and all the awesome quilts everyone is making and sharing!
Resolve to be thyself, and know, that he who finds himself, loses his misery. Mathew Arnold 'Self-Dependence' 1822-1888
Krystyna, prayers are with you and yours this sounds like one scary time right now foryou. Remember a home is filled with things. things are replaceable for the most part. People are not. Stay as long as its safe but seriously leave well before its too late. You know we will be thinking about you the whole way through and wishing nothing but good things. too bad so much love couldnt build a shield around your home for you but maybe it canhelp keep your heart warmer.
the quilts are super fun this month. From pretty little birds to scary spiders and ghosts.. so much variety and I never have seen so many different halloween fabrics in my life. If this was a store I would have had to have a bit of this a bit of that a whole bunch of THAT one.. its eye candy for all of us.
Linda
Here today... why what a lucky bunch we are.
Here is a pic of the dq that i sent nanakathy55.
I am glad that you liked it Kathy.
I am teaching myself to machine quilt not to bad i guess for self taught. lol
I love to collect roosters of any kind. I also love embroidery thread for my machine. My favorite color is purple and i am just a plain old country girl.lol
Lynnie25 - Another winner - love that little Roo with it's basket.
morretll - Great job - such an inviting pumpkin patch.
Krystyna - If you are safe and need to use your treadle - two shoe stings tied together make an acceptable substitute for the belt - ask me how I know! LOL
Rain and winds from Sandy have started here. Yard stuff is in the garage, leaves are bagged, generator has gas and extra cans are full, grill has gas and we stocked up on necessaries. Like Krystyna - no coffee makes me very hard to be around so there is plenty in the house.

Life is what happens to us while we are making other plans.
Paula, be safe! Lucky you with a generator. We keep saying we need to get one but never get around to it. Got lots of propane but just discovered there is something wrong with the grill. But we do have a gas stove ... good for making coffee and heating up all the beef stew, chicken cacciatore and other goodies I canned last year! We don't eat meat on Fridays so yesterday we had a feast -- which kind of defeats the purpose -- all the jumbo shrimp and wild salmon I got on sale. Figured we might as well eat what's in the freezer before the power goes out. Pulling out all the oil lamps and flashlights and radios and board games ... and we're good to go. Just need an ark. Kicking myself that I gave away our life vests when we sold our boats.

Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.
Oooops!Forgot what I initially meant to write -- Deb that quilt is fabulous! I just love crows!
