New floor necessitated re-organization
My DH decided to put vinyl plank flooring in my sewing room a couple weeks ago, which necessitated moving EVERYTHING out, except the stuff stored in the closet, off the floor. It took me longer to move than it did for him to lay the floor LOL When I put things back, we rearranged the small space to make room for another table, yet to be made, to complete a "U" work space. I absolutely love it. I had had two large bookcases 7' tall x 30" wide x 12" deep, which we moved to the Master. One had fabric, which I found room for in the guest room closet. The other had craft books, patterns, etc. which we moved in its entirety into the Master. The room is 10' 9" x 11', the Tiara table is 6' x 36" and the cutting table is 26" x 50" so there is a lot of fairly large furniture to re-position. This is what we came up with.

We removed the bifold closet doors and I made a curtain with shower hooks so I could put my grandma's treadle right up against the wall and not have to accommodate space for the door. The wall hanging over the iron/cutting station covers a cubby with 25 spaces (CD size) for FQs.

A bit redundant, but wanted to show you the solution for my rulers. My DH made the cutting table and there are three pieces of pegboard that slide out of the end with my rulers hanging on traditional peg board hooks. Scissors and rotary cutters hang on Command hooks. On the left side wall are my Tiara rulers (1/4" thick for the mid-arm) and two shelves in the rear for my embroidery carriage, rotary mat, manuals, etc. On the right side are two shelves for four machines and six cubbies for plastic storage drawers that contain various projects and my ironing essentials.

Behind the door is a bulletin board. The "bookcase" was actually a hutch that sat on the end of the computer table I use for sewing. My DH moved the permanent shelf to the bottom as a base and we added the remaining shelves. The pegboard will be above the "yet to be made" 66" x 30" table that will complete the left half of the "U" workspace.

This table used to be below the pegboard and is the same size as the one my DH is going to build to complete the "U". I love being able to look out the window onto the front flower garden and the countryside!

The Tiara table completes the tour of the room. It too, has wire baskets under the right extension for stencils and wide backings.

Looks great! I also have a u-shape but still needs work. My 401 sits in front of the window. Since it's desk top I can also put my 2662 on it when I use my 6' table for basting (Sharon Shamberg method). Love your cubby idea for the fqs.

Beautiful well organized space.
I have a sheet of peg board in the garage that I need to paint and put up in my space. I like being able to see what I have at a glance and Peg Board makes that possible.
