Sorry to hear that you have to move... I would be inclined to go on strike since it takes so much work to move and get settled in. Asking how much are they going to pay you to move?

That just really sucks! When I organized (?) my sewing room, I did it with the intentions of having to move and pack quickly. Since living in an area where hurricanes can happen and I possibly would have to do that. Hurricane season begins June 1 and ends November 30. It can continue past that date. I just want to be prepared and be able to save as much as possible. If I have to evacuate, I want to be able to take as much of my sewing/quilting fabric as possible. Of course I have to make room for the puppies. Just a piece of moving tip. If you have chest of drawers (maybe you already do this) I put some of my smaller pieces of fabric in drawers on top of quilting notions and do not empty any of the drawers. Just pull them out put the chest on the truck and drawers back into the chest and use bungie cords or duct tape to keep the drawers from sliding out. That way when you get to your destination, you will be able to immediately set up your space. If you use clear containes that will help you see what is in that particular container. Here's wishing you the best and it will work out. Hopefully for the better.

I moved 2 weeks ago from Tennessee to Florida-my quilt room was organized before the move, it sat packed in boxes for 5 months while we took care of our Grandson for his father who is in Military Schooling, when I arrived in Florida, I unpacked the rest of our stuff first. When I got done, I took 1 week unpacking the quilt room-Now it is done, and the way I want it-Bigger and Better-good luck with your move, I hope it goes as smooth as mine.

You're a dedicated quilter/sewer...you'll find a way to put it all back together in your new digs. Thoughts and prayers for a successful move.

At least you can move the organized things to the new spot. Change is so hard....hang in there.

So sorry to hear . Moving is WAY up there on the list of stressors in life. But you will eventually settle in and get your new NEW sewing space feeling like home to you.

Try to "bloom where you are planted." That would upset me too! I'm a homebody and I don't like moving!

What a shame, but look on the positive side. You now know how you want your room and it will be easier next time. Good luck.
