I wrote yesterday I was not sure about using my Juki exclusively for FM because I couldn't set a speed on the stitching. Well I think I figured out a way. If you look at the pic of the Juki pedal you can see there is a closed gap between the solid pedal housing and the base. I cut a small piece of mouse pad material and with double sided tape secured it there. Now it gently restricts the movement of the pedal. IF this works the way it should I'll replace the malleable material with something solid.
Don't you just love it when you solve your own problems.

Ditto but I used a piece of wood. Quilters are very resourceful.

Great idea. I purchase a speed regulator for my Juki. The foot pedal plugs into the speed regulator and then the speed regulator plugs into the machine. You can adjust the max speed by turning a dial on the speed regulator

My old Elna has a 2 speed foot pedal

that is clever. I also bought a speed controller for mine because I couldn't control with the foot pedal

My Babylock has a speed controller on the machine, just slide the tab to whatever speed you like and sew away. Love it. Great for teaching newbies to sew.
