I use the Jo Ann bolts as well, they are so perfect. I also use the hair clips to clip them in place, u know the ones that u put in your hair and they spring back to lay flat to your head.....so perfect.

I have my local quilt shop save their bolt boards when they are empty for me. Since they just pitch them, I get them for free. Sandy 64

They have a 4x8 pc of platic board for $11 and u get quite a few out of it, look prev. here where someone wrote on it
