I am in the process of moving my sewing room downstairs and had to empty the large fabric cupboard. Well, my 13 yr old GD came over yesterday and had a ball putting the fabric back in there all color coordinated and will do the same for all my threads when I get those racks mounted again. She loves to organize.

The before and after pictures were so interesting to see, thank-you for sharing.

Last summer I took all my fabric and put on the comic boards...It is FANTASTIC! I used 350 comic boards anything over 6 yards I used two fabric boards folding from opposite directions. I didn't use the boards for anything less than one yard. Smaller pieces are now folded in drawers.

I was so surprised when I pulled fabric from the cabinets how much fabric I'd forgotten I had. I thought I had neatly folded and stacked but then stacks were in front of stacks and that's when fabrics got lost. I decided to donate fabrics that no longer were interesting to me.

Now it is much, much easier to shop my own stash and with the price of fabric I'm always so happy to have stash fabric that fits exactly what I need....well, sometimes. :0)

I'm curious how this works with a group of quilters. Does the stash belong to everyone? IF so, how is it fairly divided among you all? It's fantastic how nicely it's organized!!

So is this all your beautiful stash? I love how organized it looks. Anybody living in Phoenix Az want help organizing their stash let me know. I enjoy doing this. Plus I don't have a stash down here so it gives me an excuse to touch fabric and organize at the same time. Any other snowbird quilters down here?
